As described. A bit off the beaten path but worth it!

August 11th, 2020 Yellowstone truck stop, exit #330

Truck stop with the usual. Well water if you need a refill. Free.

June 18th, 2020 Wendell Public Works Dump & Water

Clean facility. Free dump and drinking water!

June 1st, 2020 Shower at Imperial Laundry May

6 minute hot shower for $3! Clean. Only one shower. Didn’t price laundry- sorry.

March 9th, 2020 Rancho Nuevo Mazatlan

Guess this place is open after all? Guy just came to collect $200 pesos. Days when he’s not on property he turns off the cold showers and boards up the restrooms. Odd... There were four other campers last night and all was quite. Left our bag of trash at site per money collector instructions.

March 8th, 2020 Rancho Nuevo Mazatlan

We’re not sure this place is open. We arrived some 4 hours ago and haven’t seen a sole. Bathrooms are boarded up. No trash cans anywhere. Water at campsite is available though so we’ve washed our van. Beautiful beach! . Very odd so far...

March 1st, 2020 Pemex

FYI- this station also has bathrooms, showers and laundry per sign (we did not actually stop to confirm)

January 20th, 2020 Rancho Santo Domingo

This place was super! Humberto & his grandson, Brain were fantastic hosts. We got a ranch tour and enjoyed a tranquil night under very dark skies with loads of stars! The following day, we went for a hike with Brian to cave dwellings discovered by Humberto which had several cave drawings. Per prior review, no set price for camping. Use of the bathroom cost 20 pesos and a shower cost 50 pesos. No English spoken but, with Google translate all was good. Overall, a great experience!

January 17th, 2020 Waicura

Loreto’s only vegan restaurant! The owner Andres, is a fantastic host and great conversationalist. We had 3 of the tacos and the house burrito along with the green juice. Super good and all fresh made.

January 10th, 2020 Mulege Brewing Company

Great stop! Beer is good and staff is awesome 🍺

January 5th, 2020 RV Park San Lucas Cove

Had a wonderful time here! Lots of long term people but they were nice and full of local knowledge! The bay is pretty with lots of bird and fishermen. The restrooms are just fine (bring your own paper) and the showers are very spacious and nicely tiled. Water is HOT! The on-site restaurant Bahia Cantina is aaaamazing with great food & prices. We’ll likely stop again on the return trip to the states!

January 2nd, 2020 Centro Recretivo Mi Refugio

To clarify, this place is actually called Rancho Mi Refugio. It’s a wonderful little place. Spots are a nice size and clean with a picnic table and either a palapas or pergola. Each has a fire pit and garbage can. There is a dish wash station available and small/basic bathroom & warm showers. Remember to bring your own tissue and hand soap. No tissue in the toilets it goes instead in the bucket provided. The people here are nice and there are many long term residents. Nice views on the water. Someone was burning something in the late afternoon. Very smoky and smell not great. Unsure what it was- thinking trash (?).

August 22nd, 2019 Otter Creek Fishing Access

Nice spot! There is a large gravel parking lot but most “sites” here are for tents. Having said that, there are a few drive-in spots with fire rings and one with a picnic table.

August 20th, 2019 Hyalite Free Dipersed Camping

Most dispersed sites on this road are walk-in sites meant for tent campers. Some of the parking lots for these areas are big enough for a camper van and/or car but not meant for 5th wheels, motor home, etc. We stayed a night in one such lot without any issues. There was a pit toilet just down the road from us at Hyalite Creek Trailhead.

August 19th, 2019 Ntnl Forest Land near Sheridan

Big, beautiful spot with fire ring right next to a creek and former mining “town”. Bumpy, pothole road as usual. 4 wheel drive not needed. Limited Verizon signal.

June 28th, 2019 The Washout

Coin laundry and showers. Clean showers! $4.50 for single shower. $7 for the family shower which gave you 30 minutes. Didn’t use laundry so I don’t know the rates. Note: GPS coordinates may not be exact. Couldn’t get them to “lock in” due to poor cell signal. This place is located on Swanson River Road.

June 25th, 2019 Homer Spit Campground

These are the correct coordinates for this campground. Campground is right on the main roadway of the spit. Spots are a mix of gravel, dirt & grass. Spaces are tight but each has a picnic table and fire ring. Some spots have a beach view. Tent camping is also available on the beach. Office has a small gift shop and “store”. Restrooms and showers both really clean. If staying the night, a shower is $1. If not staying, you can purchase a shower for $6.50. There is also a laundry on site $2 to wash and $2 to dry. We paid $30 to dry camp.

June 24th, 2019 Seaside Farm Accomodations

Awesome spot! This place has a lodge, cabins, tent camping and allowed our camper van (no RVs). It’s an active, operating farm. Owner, Mossy, is super nice. We paid $15 to dry camp. Their was potable water, small “community” outdoor kitchen area, fire pit, walking trails, beach and the view was unbelievable!

June 11th, 2019 Cabela's

If you need to stay in town and don’t wish to pay for an RV park or established campground, this is about your only option. It’s a good one though. There is a fee to use the dump station. There is a lot of grass around the property if you have pups that need walking. There are also a few dog kennels if you wish to let your dog hang out for a bit.

May 24th, 2019 East West Trailhead

Overgrown former scenic “overlook” and trailhead. Per prior reviews, has not been used or maintained by AK in some time. Still, ok for overnight and free!

May 20th, 2019 Showers at Talbots Arm Motel in Destruction Bay

Great place! $5 showers, fuel, laundry, cafe and groceries. Showers and restrooms very clean. Staff nice.

May 15th, 2019 VulcanFree

Great spot. As described. Clean restroom walking trail nearby.

May 6th, 2019 Riverside Park - FREE

As described. Very nice. A donation is encouraged but we found no place to make one.

April 19th, 2019 BLM camping just off Needles Overlook Road

Red dirt road through cow grazing land. No fire rings. We just parked off the dirt road. Beautiful mountain views. Super quiet. Pup enjoyed running around!

April 14th, 2019 Old Horse Corral

Great spot! Camped right next to the corral. Fun exploring the nearby rocks. Showers, laundry, etc just down the road.

April 4th, 2019 Pine Trailhead

Trailhead parking lot. AT feeder trail among some of the hiking available here. Pit toilet. You can park on paved lots or in one of the grassy areas. Several fire rings. Spots for a horse if you have one. No water or trash. Pretty nice!

April 3rd, 2019 Tonto National Forest- near Fish Hatchery

Dispersed campsite (many in the area). Spot is in area was large pines overlooking a valley. Mountains in the distance. A nice rock on which you can place camp chairs to watch the sunset.

January 18th, 2019 Imperial Dam- South Mesa, LTVA

This is one of the LTVA areas. It is a great spot with access for hiking, fishing, swimming, off-roading. There are a few organized activities and a great sense of community among travelers.

November 29th, 2018 Soldiers Bluff Park

Army Corp of Engineers spot. Some with concrete pads, others without. Same with water and hookups. Free! Limited spots, maybe 10(?)

October 18th, 2018 Walmart

Quite. No parking signs in front. We did not seek permission to overnight. but parked in lot next to garden area of store. It was not marked 'no parking'. We had no issues. Bonus if your Planet Fitness members- gym right next door!
