Latest Check-Ins

Accessible by a well maintained dirt road. Ideal for camping and obviously "soaking" in the hot springs spots.

Report Check-In

Nice shallow pool on top of the hill, not overly hot and with a gorgeous view, a couple other campers here on a Saturday. It's a labyrinth of tracks around, best to arrive in daylight to find the sweet spot. No snow, lots of braying burros...

Report Check-In

Came on Friday afternoon, maybe 4-5 other rigs, plenty of room for camping, great views, good people, will definitely be back if in the area!

Report Check-In

As always...
Top pool to the right has goldfish at the moment!
lower 3 pools are awesome.
The pool to the north is THE spot.
Unless you like people...
The pool with the wooden deck is still the most popular, 4 rigs nearby. Other 2 pools are empty.
Used to be some 40 horses and donkeys but they have thinned.
If ya eat rabbit though...

So yeah, Black Mustang Hot Springs way back in the day is still a 7 day retreat.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot, plenty of flat camping all around. Please don’t be like these people (see photos) who parked right on the platform pool and claimed it as their own, with their two dogs running free and pooping all over the place, including right outside our van door (we’re camped ~400’ away). These and other natural hot springs like them are to be shared by everyone. Don’t block access for others. Park at least ~200’ away so other people can feel comfortable using the pool. Hot springs etiquette ain’t hard to grasp, folks.

Report Check-In

Roads to the hot springs are nice and can be done with a car.

Report Check-In

Epic hot springs with three different baths, mines, open fields, donkeys, antelope, stargazing and tons of room to park and be alone. The tubs are metal, plastic and natural. The hottest was 110 degrees but there’s a pipe you can take in and out to adjust the temps. Make sure to walk and explore there’s another spring with goldfish in it. I stayed a couple of days, recommended :)

Report Check-In

Got in around 10pm the main road had closed signs but we drove past them. The road has multiple places that are washed out but nothing to bad. When we got to the other side there was a detour sign with an easier drive in and out. Lots of people camping.

Report Check-In

Really quiet, lot of spots. Good AT&T signal. It's just bad that some people park right besidr springs like it was theirs...

Report Check-In

As of today's date road is seriously washed out. No worries if you have good clearance but be warned there is about a dozen streams with deep cuts now dissecting the road.

Report Check-In

great hot spring with amazing views! temperature was perfect. there are a few around, look for poles standing up to show you where they are. the platform one is the most obvious and seemed to be the best of them all. there were a few others but all were leaving as i arrived so i got the whole place to myself. definitely worth the detour.

road was a bit rough but not terrible. i made it in my Subaru forester awd, 2wd is probably fine unless snowy or wet

Report Check-In

Great little campsite. We were all by ourselves. Snow was about 4 inches deep but the road up was well graded and tracked out. Definitely needed our 4 wheel drive. Hot spring (platform) was about 105F. Wild burros brayed throughout the night and we got to see them in the morning! Some campsites were extremely soft and wet, but the one by the platform was solid. Got down to about 20F at night.

Report Check-In

stayed here for the night, definitely worth coming back.

Report Check-In

the most folks I've seen here. 5 campers and some good old boys from Austin nevada who were loud at 2am. regardless, I love this place. it's worth the effort. several pools to soak in. please take out what you've brought in. take a UV light and you can spot scorpions and fluorescent minerals all around the area. the road was good with no washboarding as they had just graded it. so quiet, so many stars, one of the best hot springs.

Report Check-In

There are a couple natural pools and another that has changed from a large stock tank to a heavy duty plastic pool. Great soak, amazing stars, wild burros braying at night. There are some wonderful birds and lizards that visit the area. There are also scorpions. Take a uv light if you can, you'll see the scorpions at night and some glowing rocks. Lots of room to camp. Mostly pretty level. Local come out at times as do Burning Man guests (during that time of the year) so it can be crowded. Very popular spot and you'll see why if you go. Decent road last I was there. Freshly graded. Worth the drive.

Report Check-In

Beautiful!
Pros: most roads decent, we got a site next to a pool, star gazing is 10/10, other visitors were quiet/respectful
Cons: Some roads were rutted and there were a good amount of other people

Report Check-In

Great place to stop for a soak! right off Hwy50, but feels out there. primitive camping with no services and loved it! highly recommend. Quiet on a Sunday night..... except the donkeys!

Report Check-In

great place to soak, unless your easily offended by naked people..... then go somewhere else! hahaha. No services, primitive caping available and donkeys.

Report Check-In

The Hot Springs are amazing. Not too hot not too cold. Good views. There was a lot of wind so I decided not to camp here as there is no protection.

Report Check-In

Spectacular place, plenty of campsites with room to spread out, amazing mountain views, wonderful hot springs with interesting people, enough for some good laughs not too many to make it crowded, full ATT service, definitely a desert oasis

Report Check-In

Lovely lovely hot springs must check this place out! Good ppl too!

Report Check-In

Awesome spot, three hot pools I saw, the big one at the top is the best. Great place to meet new people. Great Verizon service. Easily accessible from main road. The sun can be brutal during the day. There are some large flat spots for RVs right near the big spring. There are trash cans at the beginning of the main road. No bathrooms.

Report Check-In

beautiful spot. easy to get to even at night. the water is just right

Report Check-In

Unreal site. Maybe best iOverlander spot ever. 3 pools a little ways apart. Road in is bumpy gravel but decent and compact. Roads between pools are a bit rutted and muddy in places but we didn't have any problems in a 22ft 2wd van. Could be worse if wet, but overall very easy access. We arrived at night, recommend arriving in the daytime so you can get a good lay of the land. Pool at marked location was 108F, nice and hot. Nearby pool at top of the hill was wider and shallower which made it a touch cooler, perfect temp. It's probably really busy here in the summer, we were here for about 16 hours and saw 3 other vehicles - we always had a pool to ourselves. If the weather permits it, I think winter is the best time of year to be here. Wish we could stay all week!

Report Check-In

Great place to camp: the water is nice and warm. Water is a bit silty. Wild donkeys visit at night. Lots of places to park. The hot springs are shallow and have a wood deck around part of it which makes it a good spot to sit and put your feet in. This hot spring is clothing optional. Will definitely visit again.

Report Check-In

About 5 miles of washboard road, but worth it! Several other campers there, but it's spread out enough that our campsite felt private. Heard donkeys at night, but didn't see them. We had a lovely morning soak in the muddy hot spring. Great spot for an overnight!

Report Check-In

really cool spot with several pools. someone put a nice plastic tub in to fill up with very hot water. lots of space, quite a few people here, extreme wind. lovely!

Report Check-In

turn south onto 376 from 50 and then take the first left. drive until you see a right hand turn with a stopsign and roadside that says hotsprings. we took a different, even bumpier road to get in and found the other road on the way out. the donkeys woke us up a few times in the night, but we never saw them. the hotsprings are lovely.

Report Check-In

Loved it. No shortage of vehicles but spread out. I soaked in an awesome pool about 102-3 degrees a, but heard there are several others too which explains the spread of vehicles I think. defeees

Report Check-In

Absolutely loved this spot! Good AT&T service and was in the 50’s last night. The road is dusty so it gets everywhere, but it’s worth it. Lots of wild donkeys in the area, you’ll definitely hear them at night. Multiple hot springs scattered about, I enjoyed the one with the wooden deck. Road is a bit rough in places but I think any smaller rig would be fine. About 5-6 other campers up here.

Report Check-In

great place! the road is a little bumpy going in for a few miles. however there was a lot of room for people to spread out. it was nice to wake up and find the hot springs for a quick soak in the morning. listening to donkeys at night was kind of funny.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for two nights. Gorgeous sunsets in the spring. Lots of camping spots everywhere. Easy to access in any vehicle, but the road is bumpy like a washboard. Good AT&T service.

Report Check-In

A lot of off-road vehicles camping. Excellent 3bar cell service.

Report Check-In

Got here during the day. The roads are in good condition and we made good time coming down from 50. A few other RVers and other people passing thru. Had a blasting the hot springs. Plenty of open parking. 1 bar T-Mobile, some trash and glass shards around. Please pack out what your bring in!LTE.

Report Check-In

Many dispersed campsites at Spencer Hot Springs with a great view over the valley. There are 3 hot pools, a natural one with a muddy bottom (107-110°F) and 2 metal tubs with adjustable temperature. 6 more campers were here.

Report Check-In

There are a lot of donkeys so be prepared for invasion at the hot springs since it is their watering hole.

Report Check-In

At all Hot springs, no soap in the pool. Take a bath away from the springs before getting in the pool. Please leave the place better than you found it. Pack it in, pack it out. With these pools it's easier to warm it up than cool it down. Leave just a wee dribble flowing into the pool when you leave. Another gift of America's public lands. Burros very loud @ night but it's their home, eh?!

Report Check-In

Quick break from driving. Roads were washboardy but very drivable in Sprinter van. Sites were awesome and the soak was needed. Plenty of people but all were friendly. Amazing stop.

Report Check-In

Lots of space. 3 springs/hot. Several visitors coming and going.

Report Check-In

Great hot springs! The people that happened to be there were also pretty great.

Report Check-In

A great place. Many places to camp, wide expansive views. The center pool is the best one. The roads should be fine for any vehicle.

Report Check-In

Great Location. We spend Two Day's With lot of Pool fun. 8 Pools different hot. 2 adjustable. Phantastic Views sundown and Sunrise. very Quiet sometimes a Wild Donkey

Report Check-In

Great spot and great hotsprings. We’ve been there a couple of times and the water can be on the warmer or the cooler side. The better pool is the one with the wood deck. Try to get that one even if there are more people. You can always share. Be nice with the donkeys because they’ll come to visit you and drink water. Beautiful view of the mountains and the sky.

Report Check-In

Wonderful took 25 foot airstream no problem.

Report Check-In

Wonderful place to relax. Bit rough going in but took 25 foot airstream no problem. Worth effort.

Report Check-In

Spencer hotspings. You can regulate the temperature for at least one of them. Really nice and good place to spend the night as well.

Report Check-In

This is the best campsite I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. There are 3, sometimes 4 springs depending on the time of year. Sites are clean and there are several (over 15) fire rings to choose from. At times the springs are well over 140 degrees which makes scalding an immediate threat. Test all water temps before committing. Please leave the sites better than when you found them.

Report Check-In

Hammer site. Were all alone the end of October, Hotspring pool with good 39-40 degrees (adjustable with knob, but takes longer to cool down). Pair of 100m has more pools but there it had people. Can good hippies. We were lucky and were alone. Get up early in the morning for sunrise in the pool! Only two annoying donkey have 4x herumgeheult to our car at night! :) Garbage and fire pit available! No toilet.
