Something not right?

Description

Good security. Tree filled bar and restaurant area. There was only electricity and cold beer at night due to the daily power cuts which affected all of Farafenni. In the middle of town so handy for shops and market. Moses the manager is very kind and helpful and does absolutely everything so do be patient if things take a while to materialise. The camping spot had absolutely no shade and cost 300 dalassi while rooms cost 400 dalassi so we went for the room which came with cold shower and clean toilet and a desk.

They asked for 600DSA for a night. Owner was nice

Report Check-In

No possibility of camping when I arrived, cheapest room was for 500 Dalasi (with own toilet and shower). No mosquito net, no AC, but strong fan at the ceiling. Friendly owner.

Update from my previous post.Wanted to add the noise. Its next to a mosque so you'll get the call to prayer (one of the louder ones). It seems to compete with another mosque for the pre sunrise call

Also. No power in the morning. Pitch black. Had to use camping lights

I'm struggling to recommend Eddys. I'll try to be impartial here. i arrived at 4pm and Moses wasn't about. The caretaker was about but not English or French.

He got a local tout to come over. He said moses was coming as moses had the keys. They tried to call a few times. At 6:30 he came. The place was full! (Education convention in town). All the other places were also full. By noe its dark. I don't fancy riding my motorbike in the dark. Had i been told this at 4pm I'd have gone on! So I'm annoyed.

After checking other places with the tout i asked to camp. Thats possible, but its concrete floor. When i was waiting they offered me a shower in a room. Which i declined as I wanted to shower settled.

Camping would also have no access to a toilet all night as youd need to use a room

So i asked about that room. After some hard bargaining they gave me what is basically the day room for staff. Filthy! Shower broken. So used a bucket. Toilet worked though. Hot as hell! They warned me on that to be fair. They did attempt a fan. But it was broken. 2nd hottest night of my life!

Security appears good. But the local kids were free enough to wander in for a chat and to recommend their restaurants. So how good is it?

So i struggle to recommend Eddys. On the one hand. They did me a favour. But if they'd told me it was full on arrival. I'd have moved on. But it was always 10 minutes more!

Price has risen steeply too since the previous post. Rooms are pushing 800. I paid the camping rate

No wifi either. Tried to get food. Staff not very helpful. Can't really recommend

Stayed here in July 2016 and Moses the owner was very nice and had cold beer, but there were a few issues. We had no water in the room, and were pestered by swarms of mosquitos in the room after the power went off at 2 am and the generator took a half hour to come on. Again at 6 am the power went out because the generator ran out of fuel, and it was impossible to sleep due to the mosquitos. Camping is impossible because of the noise of the generator. Only recommend staying here if it's an absolute must.
