The most 'other worldly' location, in between a couple of large white tree topped dunes at the edge of chott which we had to drive over with extreme caution. Quite sheltered. Hexagons of salt like the ones you see in the Atacama Desert, green and orange sand and stripes of chalk.

I didn’t find the camping spot but you can pitch your tent next to the military check point. They made me feel very welcome, checked if I needed anything and made me feel safe.

Two official looking guys drive up in a landrover when they realised we could not speak French they shook our hands and drive off towards the sea
