Very nice free campground. We spent two nights here, the campsite was full at the end of the afternoon so we advise you to arrive early!

Nice free campground. The 10 mile road in was a little rutted but we managed it in our RWD sprinter based Motorhome. Watch the wash as you turn off into the site. We had to raise our rear a little

Report Check-In

nice spot. rough road going in but just about anyone can make it. there are a few dips from washes so longer trailers might have a problem. I had fine signal with att. no water or electric of course but clean toilets.

So don’t try and be a tough guy and discount those reviews about bugs. Bring the bug spray or citronella/ lemongrass. My family has welts from the scratches a week later.

No trailers over 21’ I don’t think I saw anyone mention that previously so know that.

Other than that, this is the end of the Arizona Trail for most and beginning for others. Congrats and good luck to those on that journey!

Great little spot. Definitely remember the bug spray as mentioned previously. The bugs will make you itch miserably.

free, perfect views, quite, lots of space, tables, pit toilets, do not go if its wet, for big rigs some places

Great FREE little campground! We enjoyed a few nights here. Its quiet, clean, near great hiking, and the spots have fire pits and picnic tables. Decent Verizon cell coverage with our WeBoost on. It nearly filled up by the end of each day but people were coming and going, leaving some openings for new campers.

This is a really nice free campground with very clean pit toilets. There are only 10 sites each with a fire pit, picnic table and shade cover. We arrived about 4pm late October and there were only 2 sites taken but the place was full by 7pm. About 9 miles south of the 89. We came up from the south on the AZ BDR. Road can be very muddy and slick after a good rain.

Awesome free campground, but TERRIBLE bugs. We ended up staying inside our van during the entirety of our stay because of the tiny black biting bugs (not sure what they are). The bites don’t itch at first, but after a day or two they are miserable. Bring bug spray! Aside from that, this is an awesome spot with 8 sites available, lots of space for vehicles.

You do NOT need 4x4 to get here. It’s a washboard gravel road that any rig can get down. For the campsites, they are very nice, spaced well apart and for free you get a covered picnic table and fire pit! I wouldn’t try to fit a rig over 28ft in these spots though. I had an external cellular antenna and got 4g download speed on Verizon (upload a little less).

Report Check-In

Gravel road to access. 4x4 recommended but not mandatory. Wouldn’t go with big RV. Free campsite with table, pit toilets and fire ring.
Near to the wire pass trail, the wave and buckskin gulch.

Report Check-In

Nice and quiet. Firepits at sites, so bring Firewood :-)
Best place to start a hike to the Wave or into Buckskin early in the morning
