We spent 5 nights at this beautiful Rec site but we didn’t find the fishing to be good at all. Locals and long time customers think it’s ok to come and stay much longer than the allowed 14 days at a time, twice per year and therefore a bunch of them hog the “good” sites. Apparently the host is ok with this despite a BC Rec site information board specifying the rules.
Report Check-InLovely lake for swimming! Popular campground due to proximity to Lac Lahache. Park operator on site to help you find a spot.
Report Check-Ineasy access from Highway 97 via Timothy Lake Road at the south end of Lac La Hache. Paved road. 16 sites, on is a pull through. Mid-September, no mosquitos. Quiet. Stayed in site 7 which was a very nice site. $14 a night until end of September, then free, I believe. Got very cold at night.
Report Check-InNice little spot by a quiet lake. Came in June and the mosquitoes are pretty wild though... be prepared with repellent. only $12 a night which the owner comes around and collects at 6pm daily. good for water sports (kayaking).
Report Check-Instopped in here for 1 night, got there at 3pm and got the last spot... the owner comes around 6pm daily to collect the $12 fee. Wouldnt recommend as mosquitoes were terrible, we retreated in the van for most of the time. pit toilets weren't very nice either - ended up going elsewhere.
Report Check-InFully paved up to the rec site. Free in the off season, fees start May this year (2019). Very pretty and quiet, lots of litter around the sites and garbage left in the fire pits (despite grabage cans provided on site!). Very disappointing to see, not bear smart. Please clean up after yourself so others can enjoy 😊
Report Check-InThis is actually closed now due to extreme wild fire hazard. So are most of other provincial campgrounds in this area.
Report Check-InThis is now an "improved" Recreation site. Beautiful scenery and location but 12$ per night. Fire pits, picnic tables, day use area and big rig friendly.
There is a tiny recreation site just 10 km further down the forest road at Fly Lake which is free.
