Description

We arrived at Lorraine's place planning to camp a few nights. Pricey at 10,000 per person per night. But she's giving great deals to overlanders to stay in her guest room. (It's usually $85 a night, but ask for the discount. She offered us 20% off, and then a bigger discount when we decided to stay a week. She'll do paypal/visa.) What's great is she's one of us. She found this area when returning back from Ushuaia and bought the cabin which she's fixed up. When we were there she was planning a moto trip to Africa. She's an author/film maker. Great wi-fi, electricity, hot showers, bbq pit, sofa overlooking the ocean and three amazing dogs that she's rescued. Decent shop and tiny restaurant within walking distance. Excellent place to regroup before hitting Santiago, 178 kilometers away. You have to arrive well before dark cause it's a bit of a hassle to get to. You have to park at the black gate (-32.298629, -71.472798) and then walk up the hill ducking through a few barbed wire fences to get to her cabin . You'll see it perched on the hill overlooking the ocean. Green gate, green chain-link fence. She'll give you the key to a gate to enter the area. Email ahead of you have any questions or coming in with dogs. Her address is [email protected]

Report Check-In

After searching for an hour we finaly found the entrance of the place. At the gate there were only barking dogs: no guests and no owner. Looks like there is no camping anymore.

Report Check-In

Definitely e-mail Lorraine ahead of time if you would like to stay here (in the suite or otherwise). If the AirBnB is booked there are no bathrooms available and you will be turned away. There is a beautiful beach spot nearby for wild camping.

Above info is still correct. Mail ahead to check for availability, as it was fully booked when we arrived. Stunning location.

What a little gem, it’s hard to describe Lorraine’s place as words just cannot do it justice. The view is stunning and there is nothing nicer than sleeping to the sounds of waves cashing against the rocks overlooked by the house. The house itself is gorgeous; I just wanted to move in and never leave. It is also very peaceful and her dogs are amazing I very nearly left with one packed into my suitcase. Lorraine is a great host and a very interesting lady to talk to.
