Bushcamp in Alatau NP, near the river. Nice spots, no facilities. Can be crowded on weekends
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Lots of places to stay, high clearance helpful. No problem to find a location. At end of road / top gate some places were still covered with snow. Keep an eye on the weather in top area for heavy rain or snow - maybe rock or landslides occur.

You can camp almost anywhere between the entrance of the park, all the way to the hairpins going up, some 6km further. We saw many locals camp and bbq everywhere. Most seem to visit for the day, not stay the night. Various dirtroads go left and right towards the river. Easy to find a spot! Because of the national holiday and vacation, is was a bit crowded, so we drove up the mountain to find a campingspot. We were allowed to camp in the border zone at 3100m.
Report Check-InWe took a spot further up the road set back from the road a little, and close to the river with trees hiding us from the road.
Lots of trash around sadly even though there was a big empty bin only 20m away.
River friend out most of any traffic noise.
Water very cold, we had a bbq and lots of signs of fires but no good wood around. Locals have been chopping down living trees for fires sadly.
Report Check-InWe took the place on the other side of the street beside the wooden picknick area. Here you are a bit more hidden from the street, but for the last 30 meters of the dirt road a good clearance is recommended. On weekends it can become a bit more crowded. We stayed from Tuesday to Thursday and it was relatively quiet.
Report Check-InYep crowded on weekends. Locals invade camp to do selfies on the river. Still, it is a nice spot. Close to road, but river drowns all sound.
