We only did track 3 to the Aktau mountains. The track to the mountains is horrendous but I posted an alternative track which is a million times better.

The mountains are nice but the track is so horrible I wouldn't go here ever again. Also, if you have already visited Mangistau/Ustyurt NP it is not worth to come here. This place is basically the same but way less impressive.

Did not visit the sand dunes so can't say if its worth the drive.

We paid 2490 tenge for 2 people/24 hours. You reeceive a map where you have marked the places where you can camp overnight. No driving alowed after 8 pm. From the ticket office to the Aktau mountains there are 75 km, from which 60 km are on a dirt road full of corrugations. There is no other exit/entrance to the NP, so you need to come back from where you entered.

Friendly officers. Price as described below. No guide required.

We could camp for free in the backyard. The friendly lady of the hotel even offered a shower and wifi for free.

They checked our ticket on the way to Aktau mountains and Singing Dune.

Really you will pay only to visit the singing dunes (it works to pay), in the end of the 1st road (with two permit controls). There are not permit control on the 3rd road to visit the old tree, the Katutau volcano and the Aktau Mountains. Rangers sending you the permit will ask you about how many days/nights you want stay in the N.P.: you can say only one night (in off to visit the singing dunes). The park is very amazing, it has very differents areas and a lot of wild life (a lot of animals: gaceles/antylopes, big lizars, desert hares ...).

You can also park/ camp in the backyard! Just toilets there.

very easy to sort. not where it says it is on maps.me so use this location instead. paid 2256T for 24hrs in the park. 2 people and 1 4x4.

only with permit you can entrance the Nat. Park. to the singing dunes we payed 2 persons+car 2450 tenge for 24 hours
