We were lucky and had a German as a guide. We were able to ask a lot and everything was explained very well.
The large sea turtles that are in the tanks here were taken from a nest, but all would have died in the nest because they couldn't dig up or 4 of them are albinos. This is how they survived and are now helping to save other sea turtles:
- visitors can see them here and pay admission and maybe buy something in the shop
- they can be studied
- they donate blood for injured turtles
We also found the exhibition with the explanations of our guide on the various fishing methods, pollution, global warming, etc. and the problems arising for turtles and other sea creatures very informative.
entrance fee is BRL 28,00/person

Lugar incrível, limpo, agradável, com uma energia muito boa! Lindo local para se passear, e ver as tartarugas marinhas! Recomendo! No fundo tem um centro de reabilitação que cuida das tartarugas doentes e depois as devolve para o mar! Trabalho lindo!!!

The staff of the zoo is very nice and they explain a lot. It‘s very informative. They have even very big sea turtles in small tanks, not much space for them.
