Quiet spot in the desert. There are several huts to hide from the sun.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Friendly staff at the Aramco beach entrance 100m away.
The place itself has quite some trash around the huts and border patrol checked passport in the middle of the night. Officially no swimming allowed. Great snorkelling if you don't care... Don't know what happens if they catch you in the water. ;)
Report Check-InWe asked at the entrance of the beach of the oil-company for the possibility to swim at their beach after a longer drive. They copied our passports and eVisa and let us in. Very kind!! At 10pm we have to leave to the beach outside with the huts 🛖 where we can stay overnight - no worries. It’s a very nice beach with two lifeguards and everything else but the water flows very fast - be careful.
Report Check-InNice and quiet place to camp. Border control in the evening, they took a copy of our passport and visa. In the morning control by police. No problems. Forbidden to swim.
Report Check-InWe spent a night here. Few minutes after we arrived, the army came by and wrote down our names and plate number. At 23:00 another patrol told us it's ok to sleep but we should leave in the morning and we're not allowed to swim, didn't get why. Walking on the shallow waters we saw an octopus 60-70 cm long, which was even following us around.
At the end of road there's a private beach, only for employees of an oil company.
Significantly less garbage and flies than on the other iOverlander spot nearby but still enough. The gravel road that connects the two has a couple of tough (sandy) parts for 2WD but doable.
