Description

Afton Road turns into a dirt road and becomes BLM land after the powerline. There were a couple of graded dirt road starts that go nowhere on the right side of the road. It is far enough from Hwy 15, so super quiet, and super dark. Perfect for boondocking in a van, camper, or roof top tent. can be very windy in spring time , see photo.

Latest Check-Ins

had to pull off of I-15 late and this was a great spot. stopped after dark and was a little hard to find the rockier side roads but definitely navigable. great sunrise

Report Check-In

land along afton road to the powerline is private but vacant, camping is acceptable in the "water relief" or pullouts along the road, and on the roadside. Note a couple that look like pull out areas are actual roads, do not block roads. BLM land starts after Second Afton Canyon sign but camping is ok in the private lands area as long as you are clean and respectful. respect private property signs, pack out trash, and Enjoy. Safe Area with a lot of 4x4 and dirt bike people riding around. good cell service. Stay as close to road as possible, pullouts get steep and soft quickly. OK to park along Afton road in wider areas just past powerline. good flat areas there too.

Report Check-In

Used a spur road off of Afton Road. The spot at the coordinates had a bunch of stuff pulled up in it so it could not be used. Some of the spur roads seemed too loose for our 2WD Promaster, but found one that worked fine.

Report Check-In

pulled in around midnight so didn’t know what to expect. found a flat spot for our 2wd van easily. very quiet and stars were great. looked semi sketchy driving out in the morning but felt safe overnight. will def camp again

Report Check-In

Great spot..
Easy in and out.
Large flat area

Report Check-In

Quiet spot right off the highway. Good cell service. Stopped at the very beginning of the road turnoff and had no problems. The pulloff road is pretty pothole filled, but the road to get here isn't bad in 2wd

Report Check-In

Stayed 2 quiet nights here without an issue.
The spot at this location is not exactly level but not terrible.

Report Check-In

Good quiet spot to spend the night. Quick and easy.
