Description

Nigeria immigration & customs. Very relaxed crossing with no problems from officials, very professional. Located just over 1km from the main barrier control. (Turn right before the main barrier if traveling from Nigeria into Benin) Will have to double back on this road to cross into Benin

(Not that professional anymore)

Latest Check-Ins

They are not doing any vehicle documents here anymore. No TIP and customs wanted nothing to do with my vehicle so I guess even with CDP no chance of a stamp either. I was heading towards Nigeria from Benin. Also didn’t see anywhere to get any exit stamps from Benin which I didn’t care about. Drive all the way to the very far south border right by the ocean to cross into Nigeria. It was hell yesterday trying three crossings to get into Nigeria so make sure you leave early so you don’t enter in the dark and have to sleep in the border like I did. One of the borders was just corrupt and wanted money which I will write in the appropriate border about.

Avoid this border during current Nigerian border shutdown.
We're going west. Arrived at the Nigerian side 3.30 pm. All officers friendly and nice. Customs wouldn't let us through because of border closure. Immigration would have stamped us out. They told us to go to Iridoko instead. As it was getting dark, we camped next to the immigration office. Everybody was very apologetic about the matter and the head of immigration gave us some Gin..
The next morning we approached customs again, telling them that immigration was willing to stamp is out and suddenly the customs guy left with our Carnet to stamp it. But the saga continued on Benin side..
May be an ok border going east, when Nigeria opens its land borders again. Even then, we wouldn't recommend it for entering Benin (see other place)

Report Check-In

No immigration officer around when we arrived here... guys from customs called them. In the meantime we did everything with customs and got the carnet stamped without problems or hassle. No money asked.
When we were finished the immigration officer arrived. Needed to fill out one immigration document each. Then passport got stamped right away. Had our visa from Gambia - no problems with that. Got 30 day visa here. No money asked. All officers friendly and relaxed.

Report Check-In

The official took his time to stamp out our passports. About 1,5 hours.
We didn’t see any sign of customs, so we didn’t ask for the TIP or passavant. (And we exited the country without problems).

Report Check-In

The man for stamping our passports really took his time. We were there for almost 1,5hour and first half hour was waiting for him to come to his office. Be aware to take your time here.
