Description

The Camp site is very sloping with a few flat areas. We are here after the rains so the grass is high and trees lush so not much of a view of the Nile, but a 1 minute walk and you on the banks. There is a Bander to eat/rest under. Ablutions are pit toilets. 20,000Ugs pp- we tried to pay at the Paraa ferry as we did for the UWA campsite on the northern shore but the staff member told us we must pay at the camp site. We have been here a few hours and no sign of any staff members. Road to get here is fantastic. Took us 35mins from the ferry to the camp.

We were the first to arrive and got the best spot for our RTT, others that arrived had to use gravel car park.
Great view of Nile, decent ablutions with cold shower given inside national park. Would recommend a night here

sadly our experience of Murchison Falls NP was not great. We feel they have ruined the park with all the mining work and road development that is going on. The fees r the highest of all parks for a poor experience in our opinion.Tourist prices 45 USD pp, 60 UDD for vehicle. Plus on top of that you have to pay EXTRA 15 USD to actually visit the falls. The game drive is ok with nice giraffe and antelope and a few elephants but we were not lucky with any cat viewings and the rangers are very unhelpful with sharing info if you ask them what they have seen. The campsite is nice, small, only 1 flat spot for rtt but we were alone so no problem 2000 ush pppn and the shower and western toilet were good with plenty of water. Place to make a fire but you either need your own wood or to go scavenging for wood. There is also a place to access the river where u can fish from.

As described before. When you walk a few metres you have a fantastic view of the Nile.

Report Check-In

Place as described before, but now there is a flushing toilet and even a hot shower. It looks still OK but you can already see that they don't maintain it well.
We just paid at the office at Paraa when we left as we didn't want to have a ranger at the site. We liked the place because of no music and only the sound of the waterfall.
Price is still 20.000 pppn

Campsite closed.
Massive road works through the park. Don’t bother with south of river. Only game is north.
Boat trip worth while to base of falls
