It's impossible to reach the "spectacular view" point without 4X4 due to huge holes on the way, but we found this place very close and the view was definitely amazing!

very bad gravelled road and when we try to drive up an inclination, we ve got stucked for several hours in the night. for big vehicles or without 4x4 a big and dangerous trap.
Report Check-InGreat spot with a nice view on the volcano. Very calm. It’s a bit cold at night.
It’s a gravel parking on a slope but the last bit near the forest is almost flat. The other parkings have a sign “no per noctar” but no one checks anything and this one didn’t have the sign. We assumed it’s fine.
On recommande !!
Great view of the Villarica volcano!! Accessible without 4x4 without any problem! The road is asphalted almost all the way, only the last 500 meters are on very suitable ripio. Plenty of space to sleep in the parking lot and only a few passages to take photos. One of the best places to sleep in Pucon for free!
We recommend!!
huge parking spot but not accessible now without 4x4. the path is too bad. have to park 2kms before.
Report Check-InThis spot is currently (end of Feb 2023) not reachable without high clearance and 4x4. The road is in very bad condition curently but might soon be "renovated" as it is not possible to reach the parkings and the cuevas without a 4x4 vehicle. Even regular cars and SUVs had to turn around, due to the big breakbumps and washed-out parts on the road.
Report Check-InNice place to stay as almost nobody stops here and you are outside the national park. Great views to the vulcano. Toilets nearby are closed
Report Check-InAs others have said, this is the place to stop without 4x4. We have a 2005 Sprinter that is heavy and made it here without issue. The next curve has some fun rocks to climb over with 4x4 to get to a ‘slightly’ better spot. The view from here is indeed spectacular. I liked this spot better because we were all alone here, tucked back in the corner of the lot where it’s flattest, and could walk up into the meadow next to the lot for an amazing view over the vegetation up onto the volcano, as well as the other direction toward the lake. The almost full moon lit up the volcano, the stars were in full effect, and the volcano was glowing and shot a jet of lava into the air while we were watching. To top it off, we captured a shooting star right next to it all. Stay here! 😉 I recommend a hike up the trail for the views too. Had to dig a hole and pack out our papers. Bathrooms we’re closed during our overnight and during the day as well.
Report Check-InIf you’re in the area this spot is definitely worth a visit. The view of the volcano is very special, we had a clear night sky full of stars and the orange glow from the top of the volcano!
The car park is huge and quite flat, we were there with just one other camper. There are no amenities and some cars drove up throughout the evening, presumably also to enjoy the view but we were not bothered.
We did attempt to reach the ‘spectacular spot’ but could not get up the road in our 2WD, however we were not left wanting anything from this view!
Report Check-InGreat spot to watch the vulcan at night. We had full moon, lots of stars, not a cloud covering the volcano. Just one word: WAUW!
We (just) made it past one tricky part in the road with a 2W family camper. Highly recommended!
Beautiful view, and no one on the parking… however very windy in the night. We learned the next morning that it was apparently forbidden to camp in the park…
Report Check-InNew huge parking with an amazing view of the Volcan. Perfect for motorhome. Just 50 meters in bad conditions to get there before the spot under the trees.
Report Check-InA parking lot is in construction at this spot so not available when we were here, the spot under the trees 100m below was perfect
