Beach side camping, close to the road, road noise if you are a light sleeper. Spotty cell service, portable toilets, local scene...be respectful.

So the long and the short...Olowalu has a paid campground with amenities...it also has several long stretches of beach where many locals and tourists freely camp. The do have portable toilets along the beach, bring your own TP. Technically you are not legally allowed to camp here...that said, there is an old Maui County law that states if you are "fishing" you may stay overnight. If you are not respectful of the aina (Google it) or the locals, you WILL know in short order it is time to find another spot
