Description

This is a lodge/campsite on the congo-nile trail, usaly visited by bikers and walkers. It is posible to get here by car but the road isn't on the map. There are sings between Kayove and Giginga. The road is rough so 4x4 is needed! The place is really nice and the view over the lake is great! Food was delicious and staff was kind. There is a big field where you can put up a tent due it is not accessible by car so we had to camp on the parking. It is also possible to rent a tent or a room.

Beautiful lodge and beach front. Camping in your tent on the grass 25,000rwf/tent. Not possible to camp in RTT. Road in requires high clearance but not 4x4 (dry season).

nice place in the lake, good food and coffee machine. not really a camp site but happy to let you camp on the big grassy area. the road down is not great but doable in a 4x4 ( it was the dry season)

We loved this place! It’s owned by an amazing woman - Odette, who survived the Genocide in the Hotel de Mille Collines (Hotel Rwanda), is a doctor and former Senator. Her son runs the place, and she comes on occasion. Stunning location. Camping is 10,000 RWF pp. 15,000 with an excellent breakfast. Gorgeous rooms are $65. They had a campfire on the lawn by the lake when we were there. (that’s where we heard Odette’s story).
The road here from the highway does require 4x4 but is very doable. We drove out that way. We drove in on the Congo Nile trail north from Bumba, through Musasa. Three bridges were out. We made it with much effort & winching and help from villagers in our 2-door Jeep, but very few vehicles could drive it.
