The BEST OPTION in Khartoum for Overlanders. Norbert the German manager and his very kind team will do everything for you to facilitate and make your stay enjoyable. Nothing idiom possible for them and you will definitely appreciate their advices and great contacts to help you to obtain visas, permits or simply organize a tourism tour in Sudan. Norbert offers 3 packages that suit perfectly the Overlanders needs : Package#1: for $20pp/day you get a all inclusive package including showers, full pension, unlimited laundry, wifi, swimming pool and pickup at the airport, soft drinks. Sleeping in you car in the street (secure). Package #2: for the Overlanders sleeping in their car you can park outside in the calm, safe and night watched street in front of the guesthouse for $10 per car and you get access to water electricity, swimming pool and wifi. Package #3: A room for $80 a night, sleeps 2 and is all inclusive as package #1. Be generous to support this marvelous oasis in the heart of Khartoum. On top you can benefit from the laundry facilities for only 1€/kg!!! We stayed 1 week (package 2) and thanks to Norbert and his staff we really enjoyed our time in Khartoum despite our administrative race to get visa for Saudi Arabia To contact Norbert Zschornak +249903306718 [email protected]

This place is all locked up and no one answers.

Report Check-In

The German Guesthouse seems to be closed! All locked and a lot of rubbish around. Looks like abandoned.

Norbert was the most welcoming host of all „overlander places“ in Africa. He has some good informations and it feels like home. The three options are nice for any overlander. The sleeping spot is only the road for camping but it‘s safe and calm. And for 20$ as stated you can relax in the pool, sit in the garden, use a bathroom, have breakfast, soup for lunch, and dinner. Also laundry is included and drinks.
Great stay in Khartoum!

Report Check-In

We didn’t actually end up staying due to the price being asked was wayyy to high.
Norbert informed us he wanted $120USD and as we have been on the road for over six months, gaining USD is difficult for us. As a result Norbert said he would do $1USD to £38SP, this would have equates to us paying $360 in Australian dollars for a place that doesn’t rate with all travellers.
We approached Norbert about this and he didn’t appreciate the feed back.

Instead we stayed at the Blue Nile Sailing Club, which was excellent!
At the club you’re right in the middle of town, secure parking for any size vehicle ($3 to $7 USD - not $20USD to park on the street like this place)
Plus you get to camp for $5USD per person with a nice cold shower.

With the money we saved we were able to eat great food and buy a SIM card with 10GB credit and still save loads!

I recommend the Blue Nile Sailing Club over this rip off of a place.

Like I mentioned we did not stay here, cancelled due to over pricing.

Single room 80 USD (but being a dirty biker I got it for 70). Full board: for breakfast you can get eggs or pancakes not just cornflakes, also for lunch you can ask a salad or omelette instead of soup which is available whole afternoon, dinner is good, all drinks are included 24h also soft drinks. My shower had good pressure and was very hot. Atmosphere is very informal and personal and staff helps with registration and permits.
No space for tents. Small courtyard in the back to park a few motorcycles. I wouldn’t camp in the street personally, overlanders seem to camp at the YHA a few kilometres from here.
To summarise, a comfy and friendly place. I enjoyed staying here.

Report Check-In

It's all true. The pool. The food. The WiFi. The soft drink. All of it. But unfortunately not tents, Norbert had been so good in giving us information over WhatsApp and providing us with a invitation letter and connected us with people who could help with a Saudi visa and ferry bookings as well as info on the alien and travel registration. So we decided to take a room at $80 a night for 2, we could justify it because we'd wild camped the 2 nights previous and it really was an oasis (air conditioning!!). We just stayed 2 nights and decided that Egypt was our best option so made our way north. Great spot and highly recommended.

A nice Place in the middle of Khartoums. Breakfast with eggs and cheese. Proper showers and laundry service. There are three packages. 1. sleeping in your vehicle outside. There is a Security guard. Electricity and water is provided. 10$ per vehicle 2. sleeping in your vehicle outside. Use of bathroom, pool, all in food and softdrinks. Wifi. Laundry. 20$ p.Person. 3. Take a room.

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights, food is good, fast laundry service, helpful staff. Slept in the truck in the street (secure with guard and tourist police).

Hot showers but the water pressure is really bad...not more than a drizzle coming out if the shower.

They arranged our foreign registration and travel permit.

Report Check-In

I'm flabbergasted by the reviews this place is getting. Firstly the main description of this place is completely wrong. The 20 dollars PP rate is only for people who sleep out on the street in their own vehicle. The actual rate is 80 usd or 120 usd a night for two people. The "full board" description is a bit loose, the dinner is good but the breakfast is only corn flakes and toast and lunch is always soup. The shower in our room whilst warm, was terrible, just dribbled out. The wifi from the room was also unusable and only really worked in the communal area. For 120 usd in Africa you would expect a lot more.

Great place to rest and enjoy some homely comforts for a reasonable price.

Really nice place to stay in middle of Khartoum. Owner and his staff are really nice
