Oman
The spot is nice but very noisy at night (cars driving around, 2 mosques very very noisy, ....)
Several level camp sites with panoramic views down onto the coast line. No infrastructure whatsoever. The place is exposed to wind and there is no cover except your own vehicle. As it lies at more than 1300 m a.s.l., it’s cool up here. And very quiet. The gravel track up from Fins is *extremely* steep and winding, however, some of the trickiest bends have been sealed with concrete. Still, a 4WD is a good idea and becomes a necessity in times of rain. Not recommended for big rigs, even if they are 4x4.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
It’s very good you please“ “we spend the night here and there is available Running water
Report Check-InWe are on bicycles and went with them right up to the pools. We camped under one of the palapas not far (but at higher elevation just invader of unexpected rain). The restaurant guy told us it was no problem and even gave us a 2 for 1 special on the buffet at the end of the day. We came midweek and there were a billion (estimated) European tour groups here. Bathrooms locked at night. It was still beautiful during the day and peaceful at night. We enjoyed a night time symphony of frogs, birds, grasshoppers, one roaming goat and a slew of whining cats... The mosque was not bothersome at all. Very dark, no lights nearby.

Report Check-InParking spot next to the entrance of Wadi Bani Khalid. Don't stay there if the weather forecasts announce rains as there is a huge risk of flash floods. Otherwise nice place in the middle of palm trees
