We were looking for a place to camp, but the gate was locked with a chain and nobody answered our loud hailing :o(

Report Check-In

a really nice camping spot, friendly owner who gave us all the information we needed

Report Check-In

Nice, green and friendly camp place with nice shadow and warm shower. We had a great staying here

Report Check-In

Nice place with a very friendly owner (dutch). He gave us a lot of advices for the park Rincon de la Vieja and our further route. Very good soda close by. Very good and clean facilities and a nice kitchen.

Report Check-In

Wonderful stay. So clean and lovely. Owner extremely nice. Appreciated the stove with gas so we don’t have to cook in our little van.
We are bringing family with us back at end of July.
$10 USD per person. Only takes USD or colones.
The little town campsite is located in has sodas to eat at and a grocery store with quite a lot (all walking distance). About 15 min drive to National Park.

Nicely set-up camp site. Friendly guy. Don't mind paying $10pp for a good place BUT at that price we expect internet when we need it, NOT very limited hours! The limited internet access times are unreasonable. If you head over to Termales Yoko near Guayabo (maybe 20 km away? - iOv entry) for the same price you get access to a park of lovely hot pools, waterslide for kids, a nice restaurant and full wifi !!!

Report Check-In

Really helpful Dutch owner. Nice facilities. Stove up by campsite, and common area tables/chairs down by office with reasonable WiFi.

Just to confirm the former reviews. We stayed two nights. It’s a good place for overnight when you visit NP Rincon de la Vieja.

Report Check-In

Great place as described by others. Stay only one night because National Park is close on Mondays and we head to Nicaragua instead. 10$ per adults and 7,5 each child.

We stayed here in the cabanas because our tent was wet. Really nice cabanas and great Dutch owner. There’s a Nice Area inside to sit and drink at night, there are also games and a friste. Tip for a good sosa; walk down the pad back to the main road and walk like 100meters to the right.

Wow, what a nice campground! flat grassy area with clean restrooms and shower. Shower is only warm, when the sun is shining. The covered seating area is a little bit further down at the owners house. We spent 2 nights there and could visit the national park rincon la vieja. We payed 10 $ per people per night.

Thisis a very nice place to stay. It was expensive at $20 for two people for camping but it was lovely. Nice camping area, with great bathrooms and kitchen area (gas stove available). Probably one of nicest showers we've used in a while: hot (!) water, hooks (crazy idea) and a curtain (that's just too much!). Super friendly owner. We connected our fridge via extension cable. Internet was very slow, we couldn't do much, and it was only available for a couple of hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening. Cool place to hang out if you don't mind spending the $$.

Report Check-In

A thoroughly lovely place to stay! The owner is incredibly helpful and kind, and he keeps a beautiful place. Bathrooms are very clean. There is a nice covered dining area, and there is an outdoor kitchen for camper's use. The place is very close to a good place to eat and to the entrance for the nearby park.

Report Check-In

Really lovely spot not far from the entrance to the park. Definitely on the pricier side at $8/person but we ended up spending 3 nights because we were getting such good sleep! The owner did a really good job with the camping area - a huge sink, a stove, and really clean bathrooms and showers. There is electricity and wifi (down near the reception area). Note: as mentioned before, the gate is narrow and the small but steep hill up to the camping area could warrant 4x4 in the rainy season.

Report Check-In

Forgot to mention: we just fit in, we are 6 meters long, 2.20 m wide and a bit over 3 meters high. Wouldn't try with a bigger rig than this.

Report Check-In

We tried all the other places that are on the Ioverland app around in this area, but all of them are either closed, do not accept campers or you have to pay for an entrance fee to the park to check them out. We really liked this place, even though it might be a little bit expensive, it this was defenitely worth it. . Very nice flat spot to park, super quiet, woke up in the middel of the night because it was so still! Did yoga in the morning :) clean and comfortable toilets and showers, outside cooking and washing area. Electricity and water available. A communal area with books and WiFi.Very nice and welcoming Dutch lady that helped us out and gave us a whole stack of free books!! So defintely worth the price of 9 dollar p.p

El Sol Verde Cabanas and Campground run by Dutch couple. Campground is clean but NOT RECOMANDED because totaly overpriced. Price is 9USD per adult per night and 5USD for kids between 2 and 12 years old! So we had to pay 28USD per night for our family with 2 adults and 2 kids from 3 and 5 years old. Wifi is only available at the common area/reception and is strictly limited in time from 8.30am (or later if people are still having breakfast) till 10.30am. In the evening from 6pm till 9.30pm. Wifi-connection was unreliable: one day it was possible to connect, the next day it wasn't. Hot water available during daylight. Check out time is 10.30am. Notice that the first rule of the campground is: you can ask to check out later but if approved you will be charged 2,5USD per hour (per person?). It just doesn't feel very welcomming to us. TOTAL RIP OFF. Stay away. Bigger rigs will not be able to enter. With our VW T4 (2x4) we could just make it up the very steep hill after a 90 degree right turn to the campground.

We wanted to go, after talking to a German couple we met in San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua. They unfortunately do not accept pets and we have two standard poodles.
