Rancho Santana offers camping in a country setting, plus a few small rooms if you'd rather spend your nights indoors. There is a grassy place to pitch your tents, a well-stocked kitchen and a very rustic outdoor shower. Lots of animals; cows, dogs, chickens, ducks, but it's the horses that make this place famous. The owner offers full or half-day horseback tours to the nearby nature reserve and ancient ruins. Electricity in the kitchen.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
I arrived around 6pm after a long drive from Jaen. I was greeted at the gate by no fewer than 5 barking dogs. Should have been my clue about the nights proceeding but I was just too tired to look elsewhere and from the drive in, options seemed limited.
I could comment on other amenities but what’s the point.
Never again.
Report Check-Inas described. due to recent rainfalls, 4x4 was needed to get in. lots of animals like horses, cows, dogs, chicken...
Report Check-InBeautiful place, lots of animals. Andrea is from Switzerland and speaks German. Had a safe night!
By the way: getting here wasn’t easy due to the one way streets in town - big rigs may experience difficulties. Andrea told us that everyone ignores the one way regulations :-)
We stayed here with our tent for one night. Very nice place, quiet and peaceful. We had a warm shower and clean toilet. Andrea spoiled us with a really good breakfast. Very friendly hosts.
Report Check-InLovely quiet campsite. Grassy area to pitch a tent and basic toilet. No WiFi. We were charged S/20 for one night, 2 people in a tent.
a decent spot on a road with not many options. the coordinates are correct and the dirt road to get here is open. it’s quite hot and dusty here and we saw no indication of a shower. we also were never given the wifi password (we didn’t ask)
the owner seems very nice and the horses seem well cared for
the area around is littered with trash and is not very pretty.
i’m not sure i’d recommend this place for more than a place to sleep.
we paid 5 s per person plus 15 soles to be led down the dirt road on a horse. :)
Report Check-InThe coordinates in iOverlander are correct. Maps.me is wrong by some 100m
Currenly building in the city and you cant use the street leading to the Ranch. We walked there and the lady running the place showed us how to get into the place from the backside.
Nice place to spend the night or go for a horseback tour
Report Check-InNice spot and very friendly. Only problem was the mosquitoes. To find it, from the south go to the plaza in Pacora, leave it by the North East corner and take the first right. The gate is a bit of the way on the left.
Report Check-InPeaceful ranch on the edge of a quaint town. Super nice owners. Cost was S20 for 2 people.
Report Check-InAndrea and her husband are running this horse riding ranch. Camping for 5 Soles each. They offer horse rides to the visitors as well.
Price:9 Soles
