Although I only used this place for parking, according the caretaker it is fine to stay overnight. $10 per day. Starts again at 0700. Nice place with some nice bar/restaurants near by. And off coarse the ferry.
Report Check-InSafe parking. We arrived at noon and paid 5 dollars til the next day.
Near to the ferry to go to French quarter (2 dollars / pers).
Thai food truck on Tuesday.
Nice place for one night. Only 10 $ for the night from Monday to Thursday.
Report Check-InLooks like a great spot, right by the ferry, quiet, clean, safe.
But neighbours told me it was 10,-/day, 50 around new year's (when I was here). You should be fine parking overnight here for free though, because the guy only shows up in the morning. However, I wanted to stay two nights and not risk having to pay, so moved on.
Fantastic free way to see French Quarter. We parked up here several nights - either took the ferry over to FQ ($2/person each way) or drove over to see other areas such as the Garden District and Lafayette Cemetery or 9th Ward for post Katrina (tons of free parking everywhere). Right by the levy, nice views of FQ and ships going down the Mississippi.
We also went to a football game at the Superdome (high school - Saints were out of town). Free parking under the underpass (corner of S Claiborne Avenue and Poydras) 2 mins from the Superdome, otherwise $20 flat rate - can’t understand why everyone doesn’t use the underpass!
