MODERATOR NOTE: Place removed because camping is illegal here. Signs posted and enforced
Camping no longer allowed - it's now federal property. I asked inside at the visitor center, and they said it was patrolled at night by federal officers, and camping was no longer allowed.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
5/25/21 no issues quiet no noise ate at roux 61 great seafood will go back the plugs do not work
Report Check-InPotable water near the center
electricity seem not working
Ok for overnight unless it is now own by the National Paks
Great place to park for a few nights and explore Natchez. We talked to the staff from the visitor center and they explained to us that now the place belongs to the National Parks and it supposed to not be allowed overnight parking, so there are no specific rules, it’s kinda like park at your own risk and they don’t mind. The city is super quiet and we felt very safe. There were RVs coming in and out all the time.
Report Check-Inlarge paved lot at visitor center and convention center. The lot is sloped so there are only a couple of spaces that are relatively flat. I was only 1 that spent the night. nobody bothered me. bathrooms decent enough but do close when center does. I did not see functioning electrical but you could still see boxes where they are. there is some road noise as you are tight next to main road just before it hits the bridge over the Mississippi River. worth it for a night or 2.
Report Check-InMostly quiet parking lot. Stayed two nights. Only a few other RVs seen. Potable water in front of Visitor Center. Electric outlets at many spots in the lot, but don't think the power is on. Near enough to walk to town and riverfront. Didn't really know where we were when we arrived at night during a heavy rainstorm, but delighted to see the next morning that we were high atop the bluffs along the Mississippi. Quite a view!
Report Check-InGreat place to explore Natchez from. Everything is walkable. Super friendly staff at the visitor center. Water, bathrooms, trash & recycling all available. It’s a parking lot with road noise but we had a relaxing stay. I’d recommend Fat Mama’s Tamales for some excellent tamales and food.
Report Check-InSpent one night here while we were exploring Natchez. Uneventful and relatively quiet night with two other RV. Awesome that they have a free dump, garbage cans, and potable water (by the visitor center entrance).
Report Check-InSafe overnight spot. Used our hose and filled tank from faucet near visitor center.
Dump station open but did not use this trip.
We returned three days later for another over night stay, no changes.
Report Check-InWe are booked for tomorrow at Natchez State Park, so we are spending 1 night at the visitors center till then. Can get your passport to your national parks stamped here. Going to enjoy the center tomorrow before leaving. about 4 or 5 other overnighters here tonight.
Report Check-InHook ups no longer available. Drinking water in front of building by seating area. 10th Jan 2020
Report Check-InStayed here for two nights (free) and visited the historic city of Natchez. Electricity, Dump station also available along with water (not potable) all for free, just sign in to the visitor Center.
Big rig friendly, but be warned that some use generators all day and night.
Report Check-InFree electric hookup, about 20 full sun hookups in parking lot. Only requirement is to checkin inside the Visitor Center which closes at 5p
Report Check-InHello
Yes very good place for stay 1 or 2 days and prepared the Natchez Trace with our motorhome.
It's free and you have all that you need.
Take care the tap of drinking water is on the parking and not to the dump station.
Free wifi only in the visitor center.
A litlle bit noisy with the road but it's ok in the night.
Enjoy
Forget to add pictures, so here are some. The spaces are decently large and the free dump is nearby.
Report Check-InPaved parking lot with plenty of hook ups and a few restaurants and bars within walking distance. The sights are a little slanted, but it's hard to complain about free! There is also a dump site available along with electric, but no water.
Report Check-InTres bon spot gratuit avec électricité et station de vidange. Promenade a pied pour voir les attractions de la ville. Magnolia Casino offre des navettes gratuites du casino partout en ville... nous a ramené au visitor center... nice!
Report Check-InJust woke up for the 2nd morning, here in Natchez, MS @ the Visitor Center. There are at least 8 30amp hook ups. Then on opposite side of walkway there are 110V outlets. Plenty of power to go around. No potable water. Very clean and well taken care of. They locked the bathrooms just after 5pm both nights & unlock by 8 am as a sign by bathrooms states. Christmas lights & decorations bring in a little traffic after sunset, but we haven’t experienced any rudeness. If u wake up b4 8am I suggest driving right over the Mississippi River Bridge into Vidalia, LA for more public restroom choices, or cheaper fuel options. Drive at least 3 miles for Walmart or on the right before u get there u can stop at Dollar General or Family Dollar. I would definitely stay here again, & rollerblade around town!!
Report Check-InWe stayed for two nights. There are lots of back in spots with 20amp plugs. There is a dump station with non potable water. We couldn't find a fresh tank fill spot. There is some road noise but quiet at night. 24 hour washrooms available too. Great free stay!
Report Check-InDidn't sleep there but would have been ok. Quiet area.
Dump station and water available (have for drinkable water). Electrical outlets too! And completely free.
Visitor Centre car park. There is power at a large amount of the spaces, some of the fresh water taps didn’t work, the more modern looking ‘blue’ tap worked near to the entrance
Report Check-In30amp free electrical. Free dump station. Huge visitors center. Night watchman.
Report Check-InVery friendly staff in the visitors center, electric hookups, dump station, security guard, some street noise, public restroom available. Would stay here again.
