Description

free camping. electricity/water/dump available. 4 night maximum. city park. on a slope
Spent 1 night here while travelling through the area. Saw reviews that said some electric posts didn't work, but the one I pulled up to did. Nice grassy park to walk the dog. Water hookup. Dump station. Quiet & very dark at night. All spots filled up. I'm always sure to buy gas, a meal at these friendly towns that provide free camping for travelers.

Nice stop. We enjoyed the free night in this town. Park is super clean and I definitely felt safe. When we arrived there where four rigs here and by 8 am the next day two had already left. We stayed till mid day because our next stop is only 3 hrs away and the check in isn’t until 4. So nice to have a place to hang out at and take my dog for a nice long walk. Power and water at 6 of these spots and They even have a dump station, bring your own hose.

An unexoected gem in the middle of a humble little town. Free as described with power, water, etc.
Watched families enjoy Sunday picnics for Easter. Quieted down by 8pm. Met friendly campers passing through.

we showed up super late at 1am. just needed a spot to sleep on our way to cloudcroft. we parked, set up our roof top tents and went to bed. a police officer woke us up at 3:30 am and asked us what we were doing. he said there was more parking a little further down. I guess we parked in the wrong spot. but he was very nice and just let us stay where we were. we were leaving before 8am anyways..... bathrooms were locked up. not sure if they lock them at a certain time. it was fine for a spot to get a few hours of sleep, just make sure you are in the correct area!!! oops.

Great spot, 100% free. I tent camp and there was decent area to tent camp, though some of the spots are on a slope. The park bathrooms were locked by 7:30pm so make sure you're all set before then. Cell signal was fine, t-mobile. I can't comment on loudness as it was heavily storming while I was there. Before the storm there was a fair amount of traffic that passes through, but mostly after work folk getting home.

Great spot to catch some zzzzzz’s. The park is on a fairly quiet road. Several spots with electric hookup.

The coordinates that I followed were wrong. If it takes you to a self cleaning car station it's wrong. The place is located in Forest Park. You can definitely plug in but you must have a 30 amp adapter for an extension cord if you're not in an RV.

Report Check-In

Free camping as described. About 6 sites with free water/electric. Definitely a good stopping spot for some rest and relaxation! Grateful that the city provides this for travelers!

Report Check-In

Great spot ! I arrived after sunset and would’ve continued to a truck stop with more people around but had to stop for some rest. There is free water n electric.

this is THEE best find. FREE electricity, water, and dump. it was SO quiet and peaceful. easy to park and find. This is a perfect spot to stay a bit while roaming on the road. has a park with disc golf too! great if you have a pet. woke up and then was only one other RV and was a good distance from us. absolutely perfect!!!

Truly, so awesome to find free electricity! Definitely support the local businesses while you are here, really kind folks. Got here just as a festival was happening - rode the mechanical bull and got great food right next to us in the park!

Small event park with tables, grills, and even connections

ditto to what everybody else has been saying. great little spot. disc golf on the premises. make sure to bring your 30 amp adapter if all you've got is 15 or 20.

Dump station. Quiet & very dark at night. All spots filled up. I'm always sure to buy gas, a meal at these friendly towns that provide free camping for travelers. Thank you, Lamesa!

Nice park. There’s only one other camper besides me. There are two RV parking areas. One at the north end, one at the south end. If you don’t want hookups, you could probably park at one of the many picnic tables around the park. The sign suggests donations, but so far, I have not found a donation box.

This place is in wrong location - it is located at 32.72325, -101.95187

Fine for the night, but nothing special unless you really need power. Definitely some long term residents. Park is in rough shape and lots of burrs for the dogs feet.

Report Check-In

The location it takes you to is where they have electrical hookups. If you go further into the park where you see another playground, there is a nicer area. Water, electricity and sewer for free. A local city ordinance person came by and was super nice and welcoming. Felt safe and there were maybe one or two people in their cars parked overnight besides us. Great place to stay for a night or even a few.

Report Check-In

very spacious park. arrived late and in dark so didn't find water hookups but electricity was easy to access and no issues with large crowds or law enforcement. Definitely good place to stop for the night. felt safe and free electricity is amazing

we stayed here on the way back to Austin from Colorado it's kind of a good Midway point for us but man and displaces beat up and some people are just living at the part despite the limit on time which are two trailers plugged in using SCE that no one ever visited for 2 days anyway it was a nice place to plug in for free get some water and then move on the next day cuz Lynn maysa kind of a strange town although they're nice to put people up and we did go to the store and buy some stuff so we figured it was a good trade I hope you will look at a town like little field or Brownfield as they have a little better campgrounds than La Mesa

Report Check-In

It is really cool that the city provides a free place for travelers to stay. We stayed here for one night but weren't able to plug into the electrical because the hookup is shared with your neighbor and they were using the plug we needed and we didn't have an adapter. The playground at the park is awesome and our 5 year old had a blast. BUT the traffic from the nearby road is loud all times of day and many drivers use the road through the park-which is feet from your RV-as a through way. We felt safe but it definitely wasn't private. Great for a pit stop if you need to stay in town but I wouldn't stay more than a night.

As discribed. Great place to stay with electra, water and dump. Playground and town direct at the places. Great offer from that town!!

Report Check-In

Nice city park with FREE water& electric at your rig & 1 community dump for all! Nice playground with swings & there is a disc golf course that spans over the whole park. Public restrooms about 200 yards away, & are locked after business hours in the evening. Not sure what time they are unlocked in the morning. Must have RVplug! 1st time an extension cord didn’t cut it. Gebo’s(local version of Tractor Supply type store, 1.5 miles away)sold a 15 to 30 amp adapter for $4.99. Lamesa Park asks that u limit your stay to 4 nights, & only for tourists & visitors. You can’t set up shop here. Seems to be a popular cut-thru, or “cruising route” in Lamesa, TX. Plenty of traffic but no 1 has sped by or been disrespectful in any way, but it’s only 7pm. I’ll update later if anything crazy happens. Nice park & town with free amenities for 5 or more rigs. I would stay again!
