When turning off Road 64 in the Grand Canyon national Park, you have to go about 1/8 before you enter into Kaibab Forest. There are a ton of little pull off to camp. We had people 1000 yards up from us, and 1000 yards down from us, it was very quiet very peaceful very pleasant. I highly recommend it! We have AT&T and had good service here.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Too soft and muddy. We didn’t stay or go too far, we have a pro master camper van. Didn’t want to get stuck, there are places where ppl have gotten stuck. Looks like it will be beautiful in summer!
Report Check-InStaying here for a bit! When you first turn on Coconino you will see a Camping Prohibited sign as you are still on Grand Canyon NP lands…drive past the cattle guard into the Kaibab NF! Road is bumpy but doable, just drive super slow! We made it up here in our 29’ RV. Lots of shade and firewood for the fire pit on site available! Only one other trailer camping out here with us, plenty of room and privacy! AT&T LTE all bars…great service
Report Check-InPerfect spot for a few days close to the park. Easy to get to in the dark and plenty of room. Road in was a bit bumpy but doable with most cars. It was super clean and people were quiet. Would recommend!
Report Check-InSpent one night here before hiking down into the Grand Canyon and slept great. Road was a bit rough, but I did it in my sedan. Just go slow and be careful, and as long as it's dry you should be fine. If it's wet, I probably wouldn't try it in a sedan.
Report Check-InYou must cross the cattle guard into Kaibab NF! Camping before this is illegal as it is on NP land.
Beautiful place to camp. It was freezing when I was here, 12 degrees at night and the snow never melts. Be careful in the winter, as the road is rutted and fills with mud puddles that can freeze at night.
Otherwise it is beautiful, serene, and dark. No amenities.
Report Check-InGreat location for camping for free. There’s people here with rv’s, pop ups, tents, and car camping. The road can be a little bumpy, but my 2003 solara got through it fine for the strip we went down. There’s a watch tower and a pit toilet bathroom just before where coconino rim road and forest service rd 307 meet. For Verizon service its 3-4 bars
Report Check-Inlittle rough getting in, but once I. a number of spots. we're in a 40' mh. sign off road says no camping, but go about 1/2 mile you come to forest service sign, with a board that says 14 day stay limit along with other info.
Report Check-Innot much to look at, very exposed location, but surprisingly quiet considering it's Thanksgiving weekend and we are basically in the national park still. only 1 car parked at the national forest sign, lots of pullouts afterwards to get some privacy. there is a lot of dead fall from an old forest fire to fill up the 2 fire pits.

Report Check-InVery nice flat spot by the road. At first I was skeptical because we entered Grand Canyon NP. And there is a sign at the beginning of the road that says “no camping.” But these spots are in Kaibab NF (you pass the sign indicating the forest) and there was another sign indicating “max camping 14 days” so we are good. Awesome spot.
Report Check-InStayed here Dec 2nd in 39ft RV. Great cell service and really quiet. We can see two other RVs off in the distance but completely silent at night. Kinda felt bad with our gen running intermittently but it was 12 degrees and we didnt want our pipes to freeze. Made modifications to an existing rock fire ring and had a nice fire with zero wind. Perfect night and would stay here again. Best of all, it was free! 5 stars!
Report Check-InThis is a wonderful spot. Less than 15 min to GC. Amazing Verizon service since we are right next to a VZW tower. Heard some rustling around the RV at night but didn’t see any animals. Dogs loved this place. Had to clean up broken glass and debris left behind by inconsiderate campers but not too bad.
Report Check-Ingreat spot, plenty of places to camp, people around, but not close, animal tracks everywhere. I'm in a 28ft class C, no problem whatsoever
Report Check-InNeat place! We had plenty of privacy, as well as wind blockage from the forest. We could hear the wind traveling through the GC, but none of it hit us at all. Was only 5 minutes from Grandview Point
Report Check-Inforest road 310. close to the Grandview Lookout tower. Numerous spaces to boondock.
5 bar Verizon. Sadly they closed GCNP the day of my arrival, no access from hwy 64.
the only thing i would add to everyone else's comments is that the road is pretty rough in the winter. I managed with 2 wheel drive and high ground clearance but 4x4 is probably recommended for the winter
Report Check-InBeautiful area. Road recently graded. Not bad at all. Plenty of spots, but I’d recommend arriving during the daytime for visibility. Incredible Verizon LTE speeds. Limited sun due to trees. Quiet. 20 mins from GC visitor center.
Report Check-InRd. 310 not marked. Take turnoff east of Grandview Point. Go past "No Camping" sign; road 310 now marked. Dispersed camping in Ponderosa pines. Very quiet. 4G cell service available. 2 miles further is the turnoff for Hull Cabin; worth the drive.
Report Check-InPerfect spot. Pines around so we have protection against sun and wind! Right next to internet tour so we have always 3G or LTE. We were almost alone, on a weekend! If you walk (or take your car) a bit further on the road (opposite direction of national park) there is a pit toilet and some trails, next to a metal fire tour. Spend about 5 nights. Really quiet!!!!!!!!! And so near the Grand Canyon National Park (Grandview point).
Report Check-InGreat spot. A fair amount of other campers but plenty of room for some privacy. It’s true about the 4G reception :)
Report Check-InGreat so far, found a spot just off the road and a couple 100 yards from a cell tower so getting Verizon 4G like you wouldn't believe lol. Must be a hiking spot up the road as we have seen a few cars drive by. We recommend and yes, it's FREE.
Report Check-Innice place, quiet a bit far to go back to gran canyon but perfec stop when leaving after a hiking day :)
Report Check-InSmall stone fire pit near a decently flat piece of ground. Quiet weeknight besides a handful of cars driving by. Picked up a bit of broken glass and trash so make sure to "leave no trace".
Report Check-InNice overnight spots near to Grand Canyon. Take NF-Road near to Grand View Overlook to get there. It's for free!
Report Check-InOfficially it´s outside of the NP so you can camp here. No amenities but free. Nice area for camping
