Something not right?

Description

A really enchanted and incredibly beautiful, quiet place. The owner is very warm and helpful. Smaller to medium-sized campers can be accommodated. Shower, toilet and water everything there. Simple, works and is good. Price for one night all incl. 30 Sol

Camping is possible at Las Cabanas, but we opted to stay in a cabin for our last night in Peru. A very nice area in a quite town, a much friendlier place to stay than nearby Puno.

A very peaceful place. We were the only ones. The bathroom was clean and the water in the shower was warm. Wifi works great. The people there are friendly. Only 30 soles for the two of us in a van.

Report Check-In

Didn't fit our pickup + trailer 10 meters long but the place is open and it is very nice

Report Check-In

We stayed 3 night. You camp in between 2 buildings so it can be tight for big vehicles. We are in a small van so it worked well for us. WiFi is slow with a lag. There was water pressure issues so the shower was very cold. 30 Soles for 2 people was a good price for what you get.

We decided to stop for one night to visit the uros islands in Puno and we wish we could have stayed longer. Mr. Juan is very friendly. Reasonable internet with water and electricity for 30 soles pn for 2. The space is excellent for vans and small RVs. My Trailer is 7.20 m long and pulled by a Jeep, it took a bit of work but I managed to park it and spend a peaceful night. extremely recommended.

We arrived at 7pm and there was no one there, went to the plaza spot.

Good spot to camp amongst a small collection of houses behind the gate. They have events here in one of the buildings. Quiet night for the most part. Walked into town to a small locals restaurant and watched the World Cup. The square is funky with interesting topiary and an old church. I liked this little town over staying in Puno. Locals super nice. Owner of Las Cabanas was generous and even offered to let us watch futbol in his office/study. Great place to park the night before crossing the border. Wi-Fi not available where vehicles park, but you can walk over and sit next to the beautiful white building and small chapel in the grounds to get it. The grounds and plants are really pretty.

We stayed here for one night with a tent and two Bicycles for 30 soles. Lovely garden and very welcoming owner, happy to chat if you're up to it. We could even park the bicycles inside if we would've liked. Close to the plaza, facilities are basic when camping. We didn't see a shower but we also didn't ask.

Spend 1 night before entering Bolivia. 30 sol. Not super flat but with some stones or blocks you can level. Nice toilets and a hot shower. Owner is super friendly. Wifi was ok. Closed gate during the night in a super quiet town.

Report Check-In

Nice and secure place to stay before heading to Bolivia border. We paid 30k sols and had wifi and a hot shower. We walked the streets first to scope out if we'd fit and did manage to squeeze in in our truck camper.

Report Check-In

Sweet place in town. We made it fine with our 21 ft truck camper. Advisable to check which road to take first by foot since one parked car will inhibit your journey there. Several smallish roads lead there.
Very friendly owner, beautiful gardens, quiet night and warm shower. Clean toilet. Paid 20 soles for 2 in a truck camper.
Nice town to explore and don’t miss hiking up the hill from the church, beautiful views.

The access road isn’t that good but manageable with a 2wd van like ours, not suitable for big rigs. We stayed one night and could use the bathroom with warm but NOT HOT shower. Nice owner. We payed 20.- soles (2p+van).

Report Check-In

Not good for medium or big-size rigs. In our experience, the streets became very small and difficult to maneuver once we got closer to the place. We had to back our way out of the street because of the wide turning wheel radius on our Dodge Ram 3500.

As others have said, a lovely quiet place in a sweet little village. We stopped at Casa Blanca first but vans were crammed in like sardines so came here instead. The gardens are lovely, there's a private bathroom for campers and potable water. Juan is very sweet- but a bit deaf, so ring the bell long and maybe a couple of times! Town is shut down after about 6pm so expect to eat early (ie before 6) or in the van. Easy collectivo to Puno takes 20mins and 1.5s. A much nicer to stop than Puno which is a dump, and smells bad too!

What a wonderful place! So different from most peruvian hostels and even hotels! No garbage or untidy spots, just the plain beauty of the small scattered cabanas in a wonderful garden. Juan is not only one of the friendliest hosts we had in Peru so far, but also a very knowlegeable expert on archeology and history. And as friendly as him is his staff. We pay 70 soles for a very charming and clean matrimonial cabana with an open fireplace and a winter garden (glass veranda). 10 for a pack of wood big enough for a long night, 10 for a continental breakfast, and 10 for a simple dinner including main course and tea. All without bargaining, because this place to us seems like its worth every centavo spent. Best of all: no noise or music, and a view on the lake from the garden. Highly recommended! Note: tranquility may suffer when there is an event or convention going on.

the caretaker can't hear the bell from his house in the back, but there is a phone number on the wall. or just open the gate and drive in.

Report Check-In

Nobody answered. Waited for a couple of hours and no luck. Ended up staying at plaza near by, police said it was fine (it was quiet and flat, perfect for an overnight spot en route to border. And free :)

Report Check-In

Great place and owner, we paid 30 sol with electricity. Much better than the other camp anc cheaper

I could not find anyone there. rang the bell multiple times but nobody showed up.

This place was open when we arrived. We stayed in a cabaña for 80 soles including breakfast. Very kind owner.

Not open when I got there.

Report Check-In

Great place to camp. The owners were very friendly, the grounds were very tranquil, and the bathroom was really clean. The showers were supposed to be warm, but weren't for us. We paid 30 soles a night.

Report Check-In

Very nice place to stay. Juan the owner its a very friendly person. We paid 60 soles for a room with private bathroom and a fire place. Its not right in the highway, so you take the road from the big antena you see in the way. Very cool place for our last day in Peru.

Report Check-In

Did not find this place. There was a hotel with a different name close to these coordinates, but it did not look very inviting to campers.

Extremely friendly owners. We paid 30 Soles for the night. Had access to a room with hot water and toilets. Could plug the camper too. No Wifi but possible to hook on from the PC at the reception. Very quiet area. Highly recommended.

Nice place to spend your last night in Peru. Very friendly owners. You can sleep in your car or tent or rent a room. We took a room for 80 Soles incl. breakfast. From here to the boarder (Copacabana) it's about 1 1/2h drive.

Report Check-In

We slept in our van. Electricity available from cabin. Also use of bathroom. 20 SOL. Streets are narrow: not for big rigs. Very friendly owners.

Report Check-In

- we were quoted 20 Soles for camping and 10 for hot shower, in the end we negotiated 25 Soles
- no internet
- nice garden with a couple of cabanas and double rooms with fireplaces
- not much space for vehicles, only about two smaller vehicles would fit on the parking, if it weren't for the construction material
- not exactly level, but some stones available for levelling
- use of shower in one of the cabanas, but the owner switched off the boiled early, so the second shower wasn't really hot, then locked the room before 9 pm without telling us where the other toilets are
- noisy in the morning, gusts were leaving before 6 am and were not exactly quiet when doing so; after that the construction workers started blaring music on their radio
