Report Check-In

We had a quiet night. It's important take your car (the radiator) protect by the salt-wind !

We slept here after visiting Salinas Grandes. It's really cold al night but the sunset is wonderful!
Shops open at 9 am (aprox) and close at 18pm.
If you want to visit the Salinas pool's and take funny photos I recommend visit the other Stop (few km from there). Pools are near the parking so you can enter on foot and for free. (I think is better stay there before the sellers arrived)
We didn't know that and payed 3000$ for a tour. (The girl was a good photographer 😅)

ENG: We slept here one night in our motorhome. Perfect place to enjoy the sunset, view the stars and the sunrise. It's better take photos in the morning because the place is empty.

They said us to sleep in the tourist info building instead of outside to be protected from wind and cold. Small building but enough room for two. We put the tent into and have to leave before 8:30 am. Tables outside nice to take breakfast.

Prepare you most lovely smile and kindly ask to the tourist info if you can pass the night in their small house.
They should say yes (:

We camped here for the night. At 9pm all the tourists and shops was gone. We had a beautiful sunset !
At 7am we had an incredible sunrise and had a walk in the Salinas about an hour. There is a sign that said you have to go with a guide, but people come at around 9am. So you can go, if you take care of the nature obviously !! The water pools are at 30mn of walk. It was so beautiful... and free without any tourists !!

After a manifestation against a lithium factory on the salar, had yo wait 10mn before moving on. We stop at the main parking area. Amasing. After 18h30 no one there. Storm in the background, beautiful light and we were alone. No facilities, but so peaceful

Setting up a tent is possible. You might need some protection from the wind. Beautiful sunset. We had the place for ourselves from 9pm to 7am.

Report Check-In

Good spot to stop, but think you could almost camp anywhere on the Salar considering there's no facilities at the tourist stop. No problems camping, wind changed 180degrees after I set up the tent and lost any protection from the tourist stop. Great tortillas and sunset!
