Guinea
Hotel rooms around nice compound with bar and restaurant. They were not very keen on camping but agreed. One room and one car camping (were two cars). Room 250.000 per night. Very loud club attached but super friendly people.
Nov 2023: 350.000 for small room.

Hotel Filao.
350k for small room.
550k for big room.
750k for room with two beds (says on the price list).
Takes guinean franc, CFA, USD, Euro. No cards.
We were happy to stop after long long day from Bissau and across that terrible border and river crossing.
Small room has good AC and hot water (only hot water, no cold!).. but bathroom is a disaster (no door, no toilet seat). Room has no mosquito net but I saw one in another room. Tasty restaurant. Includes breakfast. A whole block closer to the main road than it shows on Google Maps.
Report Check-InJust a note that this place was closed when I visited. Unsure if permanent or temporary.
Report Check-InI asked for a room away from the disco (thanks to previous contributors) and the music was barely audible. The room was ok and the security seemed good. Guys in proper uniform keeping a watch. It was 320,000 inc breakfast. There is a board up in reception showing this so no arguments there. They did have cold beer.
Report Check-InUpdate. In the morning. They tried to charge for breakfast! They changed their mind again. Every thing they say is a lie.
Two times they said two people could have breakfast. Two times they tried to charge us. Two times we walked away. We decided to pay the bill without the cost of breakfast (30k less). This we argued for nearly two hours. Wow! This was the single hardest argument I've ever had across 4 continents and 50 countries
We had an argument for nearly two hours as they fought so hard for
Report Check-InAvoid this place. The owners lie. We agreed a room with dinner included. To avoid confusion i wrote this down. My French is fine. We agreed on the price for a room for two including dinner but not breakfast. They demanded payment for the meal (€15).
I fought and i fought and fought. Showed them the paper. They denied it. Outright.
Suddenly the English speaking owner didnt speak English. Before, even when I'm speaking French, he chooses English!
The location isn't great. The nightclub is seriously loud as others have said. Plenty of unsavoury characters too. The shop across the road tried to overcharge me for items (unsuccessful). Its in a dark street where the locals like to go and urinate around the back wall.
Wifi exists but (before the problem) we were told they'd run out of credit for the day (6pm). Power is on generator and they wait until its pitch dark to turn it on (unpacked into the room with head torches). Power goes off again in the night so charge stuff when you can and don't get up before sunrise if you like light
There are a load of hotels north of this in Boke with banks and shops about. Any of them would be better than here. When we came it was the only place on ioverlander.
Room was 300k and was really bad value. Water was tepid at best. Not too clean. Noisy and the two guys on our veranda drinking the bottle if scotch to the wee hours added to the ambience
Tried to change CFA and only possible at a terrible rate. Went across the street for slightly better.
They said camping was possible but offered no toilets or showers. And if using a ground tent, there is only concrete.
Security. People were coming and going freely to use the bar and night club. Nobody stopped them. First time since spain id felt concerned for the bike
Beer was warm. But waa around 1 euro.
Buyer beware on this place.
