The Camp site Sauðárkrókur (open 15/5 to 15/9) is located in the fields by the town's swimming pool. The Skagafjörður valley offers many great locations and tourist attractions. Museums, historic sights, golf, horse riding or horse shows, sport fishing on many lakes or rivers, hiking, in the beautiful nature. River rafting is close by and sailing to the historic site island Drangey can be recommended. Skagafjörður hosts a magnificent bird life and this area has probably the biggest population of the Icelandic horse in Iceland.
The campsite has a newly built service house where hot and cold water is to be found, showers, toilets, washing machine. Electricity can be purchased at the site and toilets can be emptied on site. The town of Sauðárkrókur offers all the necessary services, swimming pool, shops, restaurants, bars and golf course.
