Description

APPARENTLY TEMPORARILY CLOSES.

Very cute and simple little lodge accessible by short but rough track and 4x4 recommended. You can camp on the lawn outside and use the main house to your liking, showers in rooms, kitchen, living and dining room. At night the friendly young caretaker will light the fireplace and the paraffin lamps in the house as there is no electricity. Pony trekking on offer. Meals available and we got a simple but nice breakfast for 50R pp (3,30€). Ensuite rooms looked very nice as well at around 400R (24€). Camping is 60R pp (4€) but we got half price since they ran out of gas to heat the shower water.

Latest Check-Ins

Made it there more thanks to the GPS coordinates than the missing signs. Some rock steps and steep incline but no issue in Toyota Tacoma low gear.

After looking around for some time found locals who confirmed that they have seen vehicles there before but that it is closed now, not sure if for day, weeks or months.

This is an old lodge, still clean and well kept, poorly sign posted and a dodgy donkey track to get there but a warm welcome. we camped outside for 150R pppn with shower or 12
0R without. great setting, friendly locals.

Report Check-In

The last part of the road seemed too rough (for us, especially worried we wouldn’t get out again after rain) and the signboard of the lodge had rusted of its hinges and was lying on the side of the road, which gave us the idea it wasn’t even open. So we decided to turn around...

No electricity, kind of warm water, kind young caretaker. Paid R 150 p.p. for one night. A rip off. 😔

Lovely area and great place. M450 for double en suite. Unfortunately no staff when we were there, so sadly no meals available.
