Resort with a two bedroom house and four simple cottages at a beautiful bend of the Suriname River at the outskirts of Piking Slee. Village walks and jungle tours are organized by Pasensi. Full board EUR 30 per person per night. Nice, helpful manager. Piking Slee can only be reached by boat, 3 to 4 hours from Ayuni, the last place on the road from Paramaribo. We did not like leaving our car unattended there (although many locals do), but found an acceptable
private place in Pokigron.

We contacted Carmelho on 868-5572 to arrange to stay. He told us who to ask for at the dock and they brought us down river. Pasensie is still €30pppn including dinner and breakfast. Simple food but tasty and filling. The boat journey up river was SRD80 each. Back was just SRD50pp which for a 30+km journey seems very reasonable. Boats leave Atjoni about 1pm and return about 8am so you need to book more than 1 night if you want to organise additional excursions.
