On top of the Sabotin mountains, which rise from the shores of the Soka river, with a breathtaking view over the Adriatic. Apart from enjoying the landscape we can walk a circular route, either from here or starting from the Soka bridge, going through passages, caves, shelters and trenches built by the Italians and Astro -Hungaros armies during the First World War.

Stayed here for (wet) one night in tent with motorbike. Nice view and quiet (during the week). A few visiting bikes and cars but turned around. Nice view but can’t camp where the view is. Ground didn’t absorb rain so eventually floor of tent got saturated. Explored some of tracks nearby but no obvious flat camp spot. Also tried the other side of Italian border via the cycle trails, couldn’t get around the military base or find a flat spot around (beautiful view there though).
Report Check-InWe passed a quiet night in our tent in the parking lot. After dark, no one was around. The first cars arrived around 9am to visit the Sabotin Park (worth a visit).
Report Check-InVery steep and NARROW (one car only) road, with a fenced military base on the top. Is on the Italian side of the border. We climbed up just to “turn” back with steaming breaks ... reversed to the first curve cause turning with a small car was imposible. The view would’ve been gorgeous even at 10 pm but all together didn’t worth it as no parking (not even stopping) and a VERY HARD climb!
