Description

About 1.5 km from the Sakkara Country club. It's a nice farm run by Maryanne, a Canadian Lady who has lived in Egypt for ages. Nice green garden, water, bathroom, washing machine. Close to the pyramids. She has horses and a lot of big dogs. Very nice and helpful.
20 US Dollars per site per night.

Very good place, with toilets and shower services. The camping area is closed from the rest of the facilities and has grass. Marianna's treatment is fantastic. It is very nice to be on this site.

Caledonia to Cape Town - Lovely camp on nice green grass in a secluded walled part of the farm. Hot shower, toilet and access to a small kitchen at the end of the garden.

Maryanne is full of life, very knowledgeable and helpful. Her team are also great, they brought us charcoal and wood and are all very pleasant.

Found the farm and all staff pleasant and helpful. Maryanne is visiting family abroad but paid staff 350 ep (20 USD) and all good. Nice patch of lawn to camp but there is a ‘compound’ of dogs very close that bark incessantly in huge numbers (in excess of 30 dogs) and it goes on all day and night making any sleep virtually impossible. Showers hot

Very tight fit for a big MAN truck rig. Maryanne is super helpful, and kind. If you are on a Sudan visa run, Maryanne will arrange a driver. The farm is at oasis of calm on the edge of insane Cairo.

Excellent place to stay - would highly recommend. We loved it so much we stayed for 5 nights and only planned to stay for 1! Maryanne helped us so much with everything from buying ‘essentials’ (beer and ‘real’ coffee!), to finding safe tracks to go out running, loaning us her driver to go to the Sudanese embassy and for a pyramid ‘drive by’ and generally making us feel REALLY at home. Well water available, piping hot showers, perfectly clean toilet (contrary to other visitors’ experiences) and lots of fire wood. We were even invited to have breakfast and dinner with the farm staff, which was a wonderful experience; we enjoyed watching football with them and drinking tea round their fire in the evening! Horse riding LE150 per hour and some lovely scenery. Beautiful homegrown veggies e.g. purple basil and 5 types of kale!

Loved the grass and the dogs. The small building by the camping area is used as a veterinarian clinic and the bathroom was clean - with toilet paper and soap. A kitchen sink is available for washing up. Maryanne is a character - very interesting woman! It does help to call her in advance. She will send someone to the main gate (which does not have a sign) to guide you to the back gate.

When you arrive from Caïro iTS in the direction of the pyramides instead of turning right you turn left and then straight about 11 km till you see a mosk left you turn left till left you see. A ridingclub you turn right straight till you see right a building with a lot solarpannels and a green gate there maryanne is living and THE campsite is.

Our first stop in Egypt with our own car. We needed the help from Maryanne on the phone to find it.

It is an Animal farm offering you quiet and nature in a big City like Cairo. There is warm shower, wifi, possibility for laundry and the lovely landlady Marianne, who is very helpful. We stayed a few days with our caravan

Report Check-In

Nice "calm" spot on the outskirts of Giza. Mary Ann organised some tours of the pyramids as well and forewarned us of the perfume guy at the end of the tour. Campground itself is pretty basic with the shower and bathroom facilities being inside an unoccupied house. the water is always very warm though due to the solar setup. Best part about the farm is all the dogs and other animals! Small warning for bikers: the road to the farm from the main ring road can catch you out in spots. It has lots of loose sand spread over the road in places and can be dodgy around the ramps if you're already trying to dodge the traffic if it's busy!
