Suriname
We were allowed to put the car facing the entry fence to the ferry and Surinam immigration (first in line). Restrooms, shower and 110V available. Quiet. Free.

If you want to be sure of having a ferry to go to Guyana, it is better to come and sleep here the night before. The place is quiet apart from the slight noise of the electrical group.
Report Check-InWe also spent the night here so that we were first in line. It was a good decision because at 6am there were already 25 other cars and in the end not everyone made it onto the ferry.
For dog owners: we were warned by the military to not let our dog leave the car. The stray dogs would actually kill other dogs and it has happened before.
So better be safe and leave your dog in the car.
(Oops, this applies to the other side). Spent night here to be first in line. Had to park just outside fence. Dogs barked all night. Mosquitoes ruthless at dusk. Other cars arrived around 6:45am. Once the gate opens the crazy process begins.
