Bulgaria
Natural hot spring, outside; lot of parking possibilities.
Overnight stays around the natural pools possible (and very common by Bulgarians).
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Loads of other campers (weekend), felt very safe, stray dogs roaming and sometimes barking. The pit toilets and changing huts were very clean, even toilet paper was available. The free baths were nice, hotter in the evening than morning!
Report Check-InTo stop confusion about having to pay or not:
There is a public swimming pool (very small, hot water) where you have to pay entrance fee.
AND there are natural pools right next to it. Those pools are free.
There are (Dixie) toilets and little huts for changing at the natural pools. For free.
Natural pools are shallow and a bit muddy, but very enjoyable. :-)
You can pay a few Leva to go into a facility with concrete pools, showers and squat toilets, or just soak outside in the muddy pools for free. We stayed one night. Large flat grassy area for parking.
Report Check-InNot to bad for one night. A bit further are some grassy fields which are flat. There is a train track nearby with an occasional train, so if you use a roof tent or popup roof you might hear those. I slept in my car instead of the roof tent.
The thermal bath is hot, quit shallow and muddy. Not deeper than your knees. No rotten egg smell. I didn't have to pay anything and no separate entrances for males and females.
Report Check-InWe‘ve spent one night camping here with tent and motorbikes. Non problem, no entrance fee and beautiful bath in the hot springs.
Report Check-In3 leva entrance fee; men and women separate; natural hot spring outside; lot of parking possibilities
