we couldn't pass this border with our car. the friendly locals stopped us and told us that the condition of the road is too bad, even motorbikes have problems.
Report Check-InTook a mototaxi in Contabane to cross the border to Boké, easy peasy, the customs tried to ask for bribe but he didn’t insist after I refused, immigration official was super nice and not bribe attempts at all
Report Check-Inrode the road to Conakry from here. in the wet season. was an incredible muddy tough experience! you're up to ure knees sometimes in water. there a bit where it's all deep mud ruts. fell over like 10 times. but was a beautiful ride and a great little Adventure. took the best part of 6 hours til u hit the bike road in Conakry. definitely ride this one if u can. dry season would be super easy.
Report Check-InThey told us the road is only passable with motorcycle, but not with a car.
Report Check-InWe tried this border in late August, 2017, (rainy season). We got to Candembel and the police told us the road to the border was only passable by motorcycle. We tried anyways. We slept in the first village after Candembel, I think it was called Koundara? They also told us it was impossible to cross the border, but we went down the road anyways. About half a kilometer before the border we reached another village, and the road ended in a huge swamp. I'm not even sure how a motorcycle could cross it, but we did see a few bikes coming, so it must be possible. It was a beautiful drive through the jungle, but ultimately we had to backtrack to the North East border with Guinea.
