Description

Newly opened place (in December 2016) on the lake side. Price is 10 US per vehicle. Wifi is good, power hookup and for 80C you get a decent breakfast in the morning. Perfect place to stay the night when arriving with the ferry at the end of the day like we did. But also suitable for a couple of nights more to just chill and explore the island. Great five minute walk to a sandy beach that runs into the ocean for some cool sunset pictures. Showers (cold) available, toilets, hammocks and swimming pool. Staff very friendly, they helped us in various ways to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We loved this place.

MARK AS CLOSED, turned up no camping anymore!!!

Report Check-In

This should be a great spot. Lots of space, good toilet. Location is awesome but you could probably park around here for free instead of paying $20 for a parking spot and a toilet. No restaurants around here for dinner. The swimming in the lake is way better on the spit than at the hotel.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night. 15$ per night and if you want to use the pool it costs 3$ more. To expensive and it is not worth the money.

There is no electricity at site.

There are toilets with running water and one outdoor shower. The campsite is very nice under trees and sometimes you see monkeys there. You can walk to „punta Jesus Maria“. The campsite is right in front of the lake and you can swim there.

All in all it is nice but not worth the money

Report Check-In

Nice place with good view and cool breeze.
Pool was very clean. Bathroom not so much.

Prices are now much higher though.
They wanted 525 cordoba, after negotiations settled for 400 cordoba.
When we wanted to use the pool they told us it was an extra 100 cordoba.
In retrospective it would not have been worth the money for us.

Report Check-In

15$/night for a 7m motorhome/2 people incl. electricity. 100 Cordobas/person/day for using the pool. Unfortunately, the place has only a shower at the pool. Restaurant is still closed. Wifi weak or none existing at the camp ground. Need to bargain. Apart from the too high price - nice place to stay a few days.

Report Check-In

amazing location, perfect if you take the last ferry in. 330 cord for my car.vpool was clean, outdoor showers and good toilets. restaurant was only doing breakfast when we came. mosquitos may kill you so be careful.

Report Check-In

Absolutly quiet: no traffic, no dogs, no roosters, no cats. Only some birds and the waves from the lake. We loved it.

Report Check-In

On first impression this place looks like paradise.
Cons:You’re going to need 75 feet extension for electric. The best spots down by the lake are where they discharge their grey water so it gets pretty soggy on wash days. The no see ums are really bad at night and the pool is always kind of dirty. WiFi is very spotty and really slow if the owners kids are on it.
Pros: Great sunsets from the point a short walk away and there’s cheap food and beer there too.

Report Check-In

Very nice place. All employees are very busy. Toilets and showers are very clean. Breakfast is very good. View is wonderful. No extra costs for electricity or pool. We rented an ATV to explore the island. It was a great experience. The employee organized everything for us. For 5 hours 40 dollars. Very recommendable!

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay the night or use it as base for day trips.
Pool shower, Pool, Flush Toilet and Running water. We were offered to hook up our van to electricity.

'Resort' is off the grid and is powered by about 15kW of solar panels and 145kWh lead acid battery bank and water comes from their own well. For this reason i guess it is advertised as ecological and a sign reminds the clients to turn of the A/C when not using the room. At the same time the hotel owner keeps his Toyota Hilux running when he comes for his 2 daily 30min-1hour inspections.

People employed are very nice but still need to learn that foreigners do not want loud boom boom music and want not to be interupted with small talk or island recomandations when reading a book.

As many places in Nicaragua a year after the protests you do have this one nearly to yourself as the forgein tourist visitor numbers dropped from 100 to 5.

300c$ per van first night
got to negotiate down to 200c$ per van on the second night

Rooms with A/C range from 40 to 90usd per night incl. breakfast.

Report Check-In

This place is awesome!!! They have everything!!! Fast WiFi and killer sunsets. And a pet deer!!!

Report Check-In

Be aware if you are higher than 3.50 meters, you can’t access this place due to trees.
If you are longer than 30 feet, this might not be doable to enter. It was extremely tight for us with our 30 ft rig.

Report Check-In

The owner is not friendly at all! He seems to hate the children, glares at them and does not speak to them badly. Also, there was no electricity or wifi and the pool was really dirty, the toads were swimming in at nightfall. I do not recommend this place even though I know there are not many other choices on the island.

Report Check-In

Don't camp too close to the fence by the kayak rack as the outflow from the pool system in the am muddys the ground. Ask the proprietor and he'll show you.

Report Check-In

The best place on the island. It’s clean, fast wifi, super friendly and helping. Our cats could roam all day. They rescued a perrot and a baby deer. there is a nice pool and fresh drinks. Plan your meal before going, there is not much around but you can order and get delivered there and it is good and cheap both american and nica food. there are the best sunset there! we paid 10$ for the 2 of us and our cats per night. there is a closed gate. The ground is leveled enough!

Report Check-In

Stayed three night here. Great place with amazing view on the lake, specialy for sunset

Perfect for staying here and relaxing as we finally fund that the Island was not good as expected

Report Check-In

We stayed here for one night and tent camped on the huge grassy area. Nice and quiet place. Wifi, pool and food were good! They also have hammocks with lake view. Price is still 5$ pP.

Report Check-In

What a beautiful place! Still 10us$ per night/car. Wonderful pool, Hammocks and fast wifi. The owner is very friendly and helpful, speaks spanish and english. Even there are not a lot of tourists at the moment, they are trying to keep the place clean and nice. They’ve two injured parrots in the trees, which can’t fly anymore. But it’s a lot of fun to feed and talk to them! ;)

Report Check-In

Grassy lot next to the hotel, just right in front of the lake. Gated at night, pet friendly, the pool is nice and clean. Bathrooms and showers just ok. Need a long cord to hook up to the electricity. Good to stay a couple nights. Price $10dlls for the vehicle. The male deer is still tied to the tree, sad.

Report Check-In

Nice place on the water with a big shaded grassy area to park the vans. The hotel has a clean pool, area to hang out, hammocks, fast WiFi, showers and bathrooms. We paid $10 usd for two vans. A great place to stop for the night and enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Report Check-In

Very nice place to stay. 10 USD. Clean pool, hamacs, restaurant. A stop like we love.

Report Check-In

$10 with no complains. Lots of room to park, place to sit and relax, clean pool to swim in, clean bathrooms and great view. Open shower (no curtain).

Report Check-In

This was the perfect overnight stop for us after arriving early evening from the ferry. Close to Moyogalpa, but just outside enough to be quiet. Owner doesn’t speak English, but does speak French. Spectacular view over the lake, bathrooms, pool, restaurant/bar. With extension cord, you can plug into electricity.

Report Check-In

Convenient place (close to the ferry), nice hammocks, wifi and view on the lake.
But we found it expensive for what it is : 10$ per vehicle and they told us 15$ if we wanted to have access to the pool...
In addition, the shower is outside, just by the pool, so forget about intimacy.

Report Check-In

super friendly staff, amazing place. Expensive (10$ night) but it's worth it. Great wifi, seems to have a restaurant. Huge hamocs in front of the lake ! Highly recomended.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot and camp right at the lake. Sunset fantastic. Great value for what you pay and not expensive compared to 90% of other places in central America. Very clean and new. Internet was fast and we could catch it at the camp spot.

Report Check-In

Not a bad place. Really enjoyed the pool. Internet ok.
The restaurant only serves breakfast and it's fairly pricey.
Nice view.

Report Check-In

I was not fond of this place. $10 per night, per car no electricity. $5 more for electricity. $$$ for use of pool. Shower is outside and it was pretty windy. Cold shower in the wind did not sound fun.
Positives. Close to ferry, level-ish parking under the shady trees. Good views of the lake. Good wifi in the restaurant with a couple comfy hammoks to lounge in. Dogs welcome. oh its kind of sad. There is a little dear tied to a tree.

Report Check-In

We are sitting in one of their hammocks now! This place is SOOOO WORTH coming too. For 10 USD for car camping you get to use their pretty fast wifi, electricity, showers, toilet with seat and TP, lay in one of the hammocks or enjoy the view from an armchair. Love it! For 50C extra you can use the pool. Loads of space for camping here. If you want to connect your RV into electricity it's 20 USD per night but it's seriously the nicest place we have seen till now. Plus a super friendly staff and owner.
