nice and quiet spot, a little bit hard to reach if you are only loking for a place for one nigth. definitly whorth it if you enjoy the day. we had to leave couse we run out of water. totally recomended.

As described below. We overnight (4WD) in front of the fence.
The place is very wet. Fog all day long. Frogs as well!
Access to the spot is like mountain road. Lot of hard turns.
Definitively quiet

Report Check-In

It was damp and rainy when I got here, parked the bike next to the fence of the old building and camped under the lean-too. Some locals were also camped there. They say the building is abandoned so even though it says no pasar it's fine to camp under the awning. Thank God as it rained most of the night. Although you can't get a car in there's still room to pass with a Moto.

It‘s definitly not possible to go down to the lagoon with a car and before the entrance it‘s not flat.
Instead we went to the mirador where you have flat space and also a platform to sit with a roof if it rains (also possible to pitch a tent there). Excess only with SUV! With a van or a big rig you can park nearby as there is almost no traffic.
Lovely place and very calm! Pure nature

Previous comment about restricted vehicle access is for the other lake marked. This place is Super quiet. A couple of guys came in a car to fish after I'd arrived but didn't bother me. Beautiful setting. Stone fire pit at the right side of building. Forage for your wood. Bring everything you need. Nice trails around.

Nice place to stay up . The way is tough for a big rig of 7,50 long and 3.50 high.
It is worth to go if you stay 2 nights.
We parked beside the hosteria

The entrance of the Laguna is now forbidden to vehicle. You can not access to this point with a car (there are signs which "Sandero petonal") but you can park before the sign with a nice view too. There are only 2 small spots before the signs which are not perfectly flat. But there are some stones to level. Very quiet .

The Laguna is a bit swampy and not as picturesque as we'd imagined but we had a great stay here and there are a few short senderos to choose from nearby. There were a few other visitors during the day but we had the place to ourselves from about 7pm and the frog song alone is worth camping overnight here!

Steep curvy narrow gravel road (8km) From Yala 1400m up to 2000m. But we made it with our VW T3 without 4WD. Difficult/ not recommended when it rains. Wonderful lake with none arround us (exept cows, horses and frogs :-)
