Latest Check-Ins

We went here, when we arrived we gave our passports to check in to the military guy then showed us where we can park, a father said hello and welcome to us, we had a peaceful night and next morning we bought homemade coffee and jam from the boutique here to support the system

Report Check-In

We went there in a sunday and only the security guy was there, no monks to welcome us. We tried to call them, no response. The guard told us he cant allow us himself to stay for the night and asked us to come back later, at 6 pm.
So we left and wild camped along the piste about 1.5 km away from the monastery, on our way back to the main road. Nobody cared about us, only honks and waving. Thats also an option :)

Spent two peaceful nights here. Clean toilet. We gave a voluntary donation. The monks are very kind and welcoming. The army security on the gate is less welcoming! Nice under trees. We filled up water from tap too.

Very nice and peaceful place to stay. We camped under the trees near the car park.
We used only the toilet but I am sure they can open a room for a shower if needed. All the brothers are very nice. One of them took us to the coffee factory. They olso have a huge garden with vegetables and fruits.
They have a little shop where you can by homemade coffee and jam.

Fantastic place, very quiet night and beautiful spot under the trees!

Friendly monks, listen out for the prayer bells at 3.30am!

Note: We are 99% sure the top of our snorkel (the cyclone air filter bit) was stolen during the night (we think we heard something about 2pm) - still a lovely place to camp just don't leave things out!

We were made to feel very welcome to spend the night here in our camper free of charge. (The English-spealing priest was so nice we gave a voluntary donation.) Shower and laundry facilities can be arranged. It is a peaceful oasis of shady trees and green ground cover. If you follow the listed GPS coordinates it takes you in a back way with several turns and a security gate that is locked at dusk. These coordinates will take you in the main route which is a straight shot: 5.665486, 10.782239 you'll get to red wall, Turn in just before the security gate.

Very catholic Monastery. But also a very peaceful and secure Compound. We camped in the Car Park and used a Room for showering (run down shared Toilets). We were free to pay whatever we wanted - gave 3.000 CFA.
