as described below. Shady spots with slow wifi, toilets and fire pits for 20 Belize dollars pp. Lots of birds on the campground and nearby river!

This is the camping area that is part of Bird’s Eye View Lodge. The lady who runs it is very nice. We paid $20bz to camp; we’re a couple and a small dog. Other friendly dogs around. Digicell LTE good. A few palapas and picnic tables. Level, grassy spots. Clean bathrooms and showers. Can rent canoes and kayaks. If no one is around call the number on the sign at the lodge office. Bring insect repellent.

Nice spot with shade from trees, good breeze all day. Didn’t not find electrical hookups and the wifi was only good at the main reception building. Lots of birds and a few nice walking trails. Shower was cold water only but had good pressure.

Very clean place with friendly people. clove to the water but did not swim. owner said there is a possibilities of crocodiles. Nice place to rest. Only ones there.

I checked all camping possibilities nearby, and this one was the nicest and best for tent camping.
Shade by big trees and little sheds to put the tent under against rain.
Showers (hot didn’t work) and toilets are clean.
They were rebuilding the gate, so there was a dog sneaking into the camping area at night and going after the trash cans...
10USD like all other camping sites there.

Like described before. An employee cleand up first de washrooms. It was very hot, about 100F or 33C when I was here. So I found shade (by sunset und-rise) under big trees and fresh wind.

This is a great place to camp. It is clean, beautiful and peaceful. There are toilets and picnic tables and animals all around. Very safe, the locals are super friendly. Would recommend it for sure.

Report Check-In

Expected to camp, but the entire lakeside was completely flooded. Could ask for other options at the Information Center, immediately after crossing the causeway or try your hand at the 4-5 hotels/restaurants further inland on the island. Seemed like a nice, quiet community living there.

Report Check-In

The owner wasn't there at the time of our visit so we moved on to the lakeside and camped there. This is public property so you don't need to pay. We had a quiet night and didn't need to pay.
