Decently quiet, not too much people going by. The parking is at the end of a dead end street. Shade under coconut trees if you want. Beach is clean and nearby restaurant (Mel's Diner) cooks delicious local food for cheap price !

We stood here on parkingplace of the restaurant. It was hot and sunny, but with the wind ok. Quiet at night after 11pm. You can stay here near the beach for free, so have a drink or eat something in the restaurant. It was delicious an cheap.

Report Check-In

great place. Nice people. right on the beach

Report Check-In

We spent two nights in Armadillo's drive way. A super friendly family leads the restaurant, where you can also eat well and the sunset beer on the terrace is great! You can use the toilet and the WiFi has reached our van.
Great location to explore Hopkins and all for free! > Consumption in the restaurant would be appropriate....

stayed here two nights. Basically you park in the Swinging Armadillo restaurant drive way by the fence. The owner Ted and bartender Julian are really nice people. You can use the restroom facilities 24/7. Nice place to park and enjoy the town. It's very safe.

Super nice couple who own this restaurant. Stayed here for a couple of nights, felt safe. No showers, toilets available when the restaurant is open. The food is very good and a very nice atmosphere with swings to sit in while having a drink at the bar. I asked the owner if it was ok to park and he said just support the locals.

Report Check-In

Quiet during the day, very loud since 8pm until pass midnight because of one of the clubs on the are.
Pros: you can get the WiFi from armadillos from your RV sometimes and the locals are very friendly, we felt very welcomed. Armadillos has good belizean breakfast and fish tacos and they let us use their bathroom (not the cleanest) and refill our water tank with their hose.
Cons: very loud at night. If you like to sleep early and have a quiet night, we recommend you go to the other place in the area call “town park”

Report Check-In

The position is now correct. The charge nothing for staying overnight but it's nice if you eat in the restaurant. Actually you park at Armadillo NOT Driftwood.
We cleaned the super dirty beach and some kids helped.
The outdoor shower is just a hose. Shady area for hammocks, careful with falling coconuts.

Coordinates are updated to new location now.

Report Check-In

Driftwood is no longer located here - they moved a few blocks south from this location - new coordinates are 16.866720,-88.285199. Not sure if same services are provided, we just drove by and stayed at Queen Bean in the end.

We came on a Tuesday evening for the drummers. Probably the musicians are good but the microphones and the amplifies were really, really bad. So nothing to enjoy for us. And don't expect a local atmosphere. They drum to sell more pizzas and beer to the gringos. Beside of this the location is really beautiful and directly on a nice beach. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain and many sandflies this time of the year (same as in Placencia).

Free camping. no showers available at all, despite the previous comments starting there was. also we asked about electricity but were told manager would need to confirm, didn't hear anything back. for a free camping spot it's pretty nice. things get a bit loose on Tue evening when the drumming kicks off at the bar we were told in a tent to be careful of our stuff and that some undesirables would probably be hanging around so we decided to camp elsewhere that evening.

free camping at the beach. showers are 2 bzd. just asked at the bar and they said it's no problem. nice atmosphere. :)
toilets are available when the bar is open (around 10am to 10pm)

came back here after checking out Placencia. love the laid back vibe. they keep the beach pretty clean at this bar. we had power again from plug at palapa. stayed four nights and made a 10bzd donation per night for power and Wi-Fi.

Report Check-In

We camped for free right next to beach on grassy spot; asked for power and were asked to make a "donation" towards it so we gave 5bzd the first night then ten the next five. Wi-Fi was not great from our spot but worked okay by tables. nice spot on nice beach that gets swept every morning.. cell reception good. PD 2$ for fresh water shower.

Great Spot. My family and I parked our class C camper right on the beach. The manager wars really cool and didn't charge us anything. We didn't connect to power or water, but we didn't ask either. They did have wifi which a little slow where we parked but fine if you're closer to the restaurant. They do have good pizza.

Report Check-In

Free to park in lane. Free access to bathrooms at Driftwood if you eat at restaurant. Denise is owner and very sweet. Access to cold showers for B$2. Pizza is awesome and pretty good internet from driftwood can be accessed from lane.
