Village Colquesa. Beautiful place to spend the night. Walk up to the volcano or watch flamingos.

Great place to camp prior to entering the salar. Quiet and you share the area with llamas and flamingos. Much nicer entrance than the one outside Uyuni.
Report Check-Inwe wanted to cross all the salar from North to colchani but now is full of water. Police said you cant see the road. there Will be water to the middle of the tire. so is not possible to cross in these days
Report Check-InFairly picturesque town overlooking the salar. There are three hostels here which cater for the jeep tours but little else. I camped on the green bank of the salar just out of town. There are plenty of stone walls to get behind to hide from the wind. Idillic spot overlooking llamas, flamingoes and 4x4 that come and go.
