The access dirt road is good and can be used with all kinds of car. The carbets are closed, but there is a lot of space to park, camp etc. Very relaxed.
Next to it is a small beach that is used by the pirogues, presumably carrying goods and people back and forth to the Brazilian shore. Very dirty, garbage, desolate with old containers transformed in storage.

Wow! One of our all-time favorites spots! We followed a road that just turns off before the military camp till the end past the carbets and camped at a stone platform directly on the water. Beautiful to fish and to swim, only very few bugs, secure, fresh breeze, really absolutely perfect.

For the road in high clearance might not be a bad idea. Don't worry about the large forbidden shield on the way in. It's only forbidden to go to the carbets=wooden huts to hang a hammock. Access to the river is allowed.

Beautiful place. There is this huge river Oyapock that separate Brazil and French Guiana. You can find 2 trails to walk. The carbet are now forbidden because they are in very bad shape. Also there is 2 years noises with the construction of an hydronic dam on the river. There isn’t noises all the time but it can be loud at night, depend where you park.
The trail is ok for 4x4, in a regular car you would cause some damage at your vehicle, 20km but count 2hours driving. Also there is a camp of legionnaires at the spot.

Okey this is a fantastic wild camp!! We stay right next to the river on a big rocky platform, perfect for us and better then on the grass, nice breeze, nice swim....

Beautiful wild camp on the bank of the river Oiapoque with a great view across to Brazil. This used to be the end of the old railway line so there are some old buildings here. There is an army post 300m away so is should be very safe. No facilities but a river to bathe in. A beautiful 3 hour hiking trail through the forest and an outfit close by where you can do river rafting through the rapids down stream.
