Latest Check-Ins

We arrived on a Friday afternoon and it was full of cars + very very loud music. We did not stay and we went to the free parking lot near Flores.

Report Check-In

Camping on the edge of the lake, hotel is popular and the road is busy so this is not a nature stop. Clean bathrooms, shower ok, can use hotel pool or swim in the lake. WiFi available just ask reception for the password.

Report Check-In

100Q but camped right on water. Beautiful swim, friendly people and good dinner. Wi-Fi only works in restaurant area.
We enjoyed our stay here and while pricey would recommend. Bathrooms and showers. Pool we could use but it’s being fixed right now. Some bugs.

Report Check-In

The perfect stop after crossing the Belize border and entering Guatemala!
Not a lot of space for many big rigs but we had a perfect one right by the lake. The next morning I was alone out under the palapa on the lake. On the weekends it is a very busy place! As well the restaurant has locals & tours stopping for meals. Beautiful sunsets!! The shrimp ceviche was delicious in their restaurant, enough for 2 !!
We stayed again on the 19 after 2 nights in Tikal UNESCO National Park.

Report Check-In

It’s 100per person now. But it’s very beautiful indeed!

Report Check-In

A good place, with a view of the lake, clean bathrooms and an hour from tikal..!

Report Check-In

nothing special but a parking lot. too expensive. If possible, try another place.

Report Check-In

Good spot if you want to stay on the lake before visiting Tikal. The jetty into the lake is a nice place to relax and do some exercise. The restaurant is quite expensive but food was good. It was a little noisy early morning with workers coming and going but otherwise great

IOverlander

Report Check-In

It is more a parking for cars and big rigs than a RV Park, since it is just a hotel with a restaurant. We made it with our skoolie of 30 feet long and 10 up, but only a small amount of big vehicles can enter, because the parking is already partially used by the customer’s cars. Even so, the restaurant’s food is truly good, (we tried fajitas, cheeseburger, salads and huevos rancheros) the pool in the center is just great and the big palapa has a wonderful view over the beautiful lake, in which you can swim too. The price was 75 Q per person per night. Clean toilets and showers.

Report Check-In

Perfect stop if you're coming from Belize and want to visit Tikal in the morning (or vice versa). Down the road are many tiendas and an ATM if you need some groceries...

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night after a long driving day from languin to Tikal. Nice and quiet place. It costs 150 quetzal per night. Clean (cold) showers and restrooms. Right in front of the lake with a beautiful sunset.

The restaurant is good and serves good food for normal prices.

Wifi is fast.

Report Check-In

150Q/night
Small parking behind the restaurant below
Just good for our truck (7.10m long/3.5m high)
Clean place
Beautiful view of the lake

Report Check-In

As described, the site offers little room for large RVs, we did not have a problem with a 24 feet. The prices are 100 Q per night and per person, it is a bit expensive even if the setting is very beautiful. Wifi is not good on the site but acceptable at the bar restaurant. The pool is in full swing ... for a moment again.

Report Check-In

Great hotel. Swimming in the lake at the end of the beautiful long deck with bungalow at the end. Large and small Swimming pools. Deck on room with great view. Super hot showers (careful). Bars and covered decks all over. Morning shade and
Evening sunset. Comfortable room with good A/C Spacious. Very nice wooden interior, lovely landscaping. A must stay on your way to or from Tikal National Park. Camping lakeside available too.

Report Check-In

As described, price still 75 GTQ pppn. Showers, toilets, wifi, electricity & use of pool all included. Expensive but def. a nice place!

Report Check-In

Expensive at 75q pppn but worth the money on a weekday. We drove past on Sunday and it was very busy. We went back on Monday after Tikal and it was beautifully peaceful. Amazing sunsets.

Report Check-In

Just confirming the price. 75 quetzales per person.
You have electricity, good wifi (works in the parking area), showers with pressure!!!, pool included, security at night, gate closes at 9 pm. The bathroom was not so clean, but it was saturday and the place was full, so OK.

The lake is awesome. You can watch sunset on the deck and swim anytime. The prices of the restaurant are not the best, but it could be worse. We cooked under the covered area in the parking lot.

75 quetzales is a lot, but the place is awesome! Worth it.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Same description as previous overlanders, except the price is now 75qq per person. Awesome spot to camp.

Report Check-In

Expensive but worth it. We parked right in front of the lake. You can swim at night if you want. They were nice and polite. Try the cheese cake!!

Report Check-In

Space for one vehicle right on the lake, great sunset view, great lake access for swimming. But noisy with people arriving pre-dawn, presumably for tours to Tikal, and loud roosters! Restaurant expensive but lots of better options short walk away. ATM but unreliable - often closed! (We stayed 2 weeks, elsewhere in El Remate, teaching English, so we frequently came here trying to get cash)

Report Check-In

Flat parking area lakeside. Electric at lamppost (enough for AC) Cold showers with no lights (take a flashlight) Clean toilets near pool/restaurant. Pool included. ATM at front of store. Swim or splash in the lake. Enjoy the sunsets/sunrises.
Price of food is high in restaurant (go elsewhere to eat cheaply). Price of tours are high. (Better price at Tikal gate) People are very friendly. The area is protected and quiet.
A few chickens were wandering around the parking area. No questions about our dogs and they were never an issue. But there is not a lot of space for them to "play". Leash your dog to walk in town as the street is narrow, fast and dark.

Report Check-In

This is a great place but for some it will be expensive. We were charged 75 Q pp so 150Q for the two of us. The campsite is right on the waters edge. There is a shady palapa you can use, a dock, with palapa at the end, where they also seem to have wifi boosted (av). There is electricity in the camp area - plug attached to the lamppost. No dog mess as others have reported. We didn't eat in the restaurant. We swam in the lake not the pool. The showers are modern and clean (good wifi by showers), as are the toilets. Coming in from Belize this is a great spot. I can understand why others think it's expensive, but the view is magnificent and a great place for an early morning swim.

Rip-off! This Place is not worth it. Do not visit.

Report Check-In

Nice place to park a campervan directly at the lake. Cold clean showers and clean toilets. We payed 100q a night but they wanted first 150q
Pool is not in use, they are reconstructing it

Report Check-In

Beware the rip off in the reataurant. Prices are at the higher end. Fine print informes about 25 (!!!) %add on as service charge. We stood up and
off we went.

Report Check-In

Meh food for the price, only went to the restaurant, did but camp

Report Check-In

tried to charge 100q for 1 person even though i said i would eat there too. i left.

Report Check-In

As mentioned before with the prices we don't know. We had dinner there and found it is just a touristic place. Prices are way to high, for 100 you get somewhere a nice hotel with a pool. After looking around we stayed in Linda vista! And the lake is really clear!

Report Check-In

Very nice place with popular restaurant and swimming pool. We paid 100 Quetzales for two people. If you eat in the restaurant the use of the pool is free.

Report Check-In

We paid 100Q for two People. No issues at all and the staff was friendly. No wifi. Cold showers. Nice breeze from the lake to cool you and the Car off.

Report Check-In

BEWARE! Rip-off on the price. We stayed the first night and paid 100 qt for a Rv and 2 adults 2 children. Came back 2 days later for another night. The price became 200 qtz. Tried to argue or negotiate and nothing worked. Then we met another couple of trAvellers who were told 100 qtz and then has to pay 200 qtz or they wouldn't open the gate for them to leave. Showers also did not work. It is not the price but the principal

Report Check-In

Great spot. Restaurant not bad either.

Report Check-In

A very simple but beautiful place to spend the night. Put your car right in front of the lake, make a fire at night and swim in the delicious and very clear water of the lake. Beers and meals at the restaurant are good and well priced. Great place to stopover to or from Tikal.

Report Check-In

When we arrived we were told 100q to camp and I am positive they said 250q for a room so we chose a room. Short of Q we paid at end and charged 350q x 2 nights, which we negotiated down to 300. Having said that it was a very nice, clean, comfortable room with hot shower and balcony overlooking the lake. The 'RV' area is by the lake, but was covered with dog mess and most of the time inaccessible due to badly parked vehicles.Room recommended but pay up front but if you want to camp go elsewhere.

Report Check-In

100 pesos for 2 people LAKE FRONT! Swimming pool smelled horribly chlorinated, but who cares about it anyway. The lake is beautiful and clear and there is a dock to swim off of. WiFi works in the restaurant, but you have to ask which table is best to sit at for it.

WiFi was never available/working. Take care with heavy vehicle on the beachlot; the ground is very soft and you could sink easyli in the loose ground.

Report Check-In

Parking from hotel, directly on the lake (not actually a campground). No water. Electricity available. Wifi at the Restaurant, good food (fish from the lake). Nice pool. 45min to the ruins. Cold showers. Flush toilets. 100Q for 2 people. Clean room with TV, AC, own bathroom (hot showers) is 150Q. May be to small for big rigs.

Report Check-In

Great place! Paid 50q per person to camp on the beach. Guests get use of pool and wifi along with showers and use of dock. ( which is about half a meter under water.)

Report Check-In

Combo hotel/restaurant/trailer park. Came here after visiting Tikal in the morning. Nice pool and great views of the lake. $50 Q per person. Camping area in parking lot shared by hotel guests and people living next door not a lot of privacy.

Report Check-In

Camp on the beach of Lago Peten behind the Hotel El Muelle. Room for four, five, six small campers. You can use the facilities of the Hotel restaurant, and the hotel WiFi should just reach the parking area. Nice swimming from the pier, and a beautiful sunset.

Price: 100 quetzales
