Unfortunately this place remains permanently closed due to Covid. We stopped by an had a hard time getting someone to come open the door. After a few minutes, the ground keeper showed up (he lives on the the main cobblestone road) and told us it was closed - both camping + hostel/restaurant. What a pity!

Hospedaje Rose on the main cobblestone rode could be an option.

Looooooooooovely spot! So comfortable, peaceful and cozy. The included breakfast in the common area (all nice wood and flowers on every table) made our stay extra special. Beautiful garden, big lawn, trampoline embedded in the grass down below. Hot high pressure showers. Cute dogs. Great view of the village down below and proximal to hike around the lake (Cerro Negro views are amazing!) Just 15min to get to Otavalo market. The folks who run the place are so friendly. Would come here again and again if we could. Totally love La Luna!!

Report Check-In

Loved it for the common area to sit in front of the fire and warm up - it gets very could outside when the sun goes down. It‘s quite a drive from Otavalos center, so make sure you have everything you need before you make your way up the mountain. Parking lot is not as charming as the terraces for the tents, but if you have time durinv the day you can enjoy a beautiful view in one of the hammocks or just lying in the grass.

Yet one of the cosiest camping places throughout the trip. Well equipped kitchen, fireplace, bathrooms, - everything is sparkling clean and well maintained by a local family (the owners are British-ecuadorian couple but they don't live in a property). The family speaks perfect-slow spanish (and quechua :) ), told me lots of interesting things about the area.

In the low season i got a nice price of 5$ for tent camping 3 for nights

Report Check-In

Beautiful place, very calm and relaxed with many facilities and very cosy, with fireplace, dorms or camping facilities.

Report Check-In

We strongly recommend! Just as described below! We camped in the grass and relaxed by the fireplace! We stayed for 4 nights and it was hard to leave.

Report Check-In

Lovely views, slow wifi that did not always work and did not reach parking area. Gets cold here at 2946m!
Claro reception slow. shower was cold! Nice staff and breakfast was well done.

Loved it here. Probably the nicest place we've stayed in over 18 months in South America. Great facilities ( free tea in the lounge) great food, and a very friendly, helpful welcome. Park-spot isn't very level but plenty of logs to level-up. Showers were only luke-warm which was a bit of a disappointment, but otherwise... can't fault this place. $8 pp incl a lovely breakfast.

Report Check-In

Nice place. Friendly staff. Included beakfast was good and so was the pizza. A bit pricey but it's worth a couple bucks extra for pizza and craft beer around the fire. Outdoor sink for washing dishes and small kitchenette in bath house. Far left shower was warm so we used middle (electric head) which was hot. Free hot tea and water in common area. Maps and info for hiking available.

Hostal with camping facilities, about 5 km from Otavalo (taxi USD 4). Beautiful location. Hot showers, kitchen, wifi, general room with wood fire, 110V. Fee includes breakfast. Steep access road, hard to find a horizontal place. USD 16 including (2 adults, camper)

Report Check-In

Really lovely place but only room for a couple of smallish vehicles. Could have stayed here a lot longer if we had had the time.

Report Check-In

Really nice location, 8$ pp to camp in their garden. Only downside is that it is difficult to find a levelled space. Common room with fireplace, good wifi, clean bathroom, friendly staff and lovely breakfast with eggs, bread, marmelade, fruit, excellent coffee(!) and fresh juice, all included in the price. Nice walks (long ald short) in the area. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Report Check-In

Clean and nicely done hostal. Views are great from restaurant area , parking is okay though can get cozy if other cars around. We stayed one night and being monday it was super quiet. Fire place is nice to sit around and catch up as wifi is strong. Breakfast was included in 8pp cost and it was continental the day we were there. Toilets are clean and easily accessible. Dogs are no problem even though they are 5 being well behaved. So we recommend especially if you plan to visit market next morning like us. Road to the place is bumpy but we had no problem with a 20ft RV , no hight restrictions. Google doesn't take you there so we had to guess the turn and after few minutes could track on imap.

Report Check-In

Very beautiful place with panoramic view, very clean, good Wi-Fi and pet friendly. Still $8 pp including breakfast. The parking ground for those sleeping in vehicle is with slope.. Could fit 2-3 rigs.

Hostel with a small parking lot. We were allowed to camp for 8$/p including breakfast. Great view, hot showers, good breakfast but it's hard to get your rig leveled...

Report Check-In

Great place to explore both Otavalo and the nearby lakes. Friendly owners who speak English. We camped for 4 nights at $8 per person but included is a good hot breakfast with variety each morning. Hot shower in the last stall of the dorm building (not the suicide shower) and comfy common room with good wi fi. Dinners were good with excellent pizza and craft beer. Each night they lit a fire for dinner. Super sweet dogs - 5 of them.

U$8.00 per person to camp, great place beautiful view.

Report Check-In

We were charged $8/person/night (they requested cash and exact change). Price includes a hot breakfast. Great indoor seating that is also their restaurant (so no outside beverages or food - which they do enforce). Room for several campers in their parking lot, but sharing space with other cars, so if it's busy, could be tight. Relatively flat and no height restrictions that we noticed. Parking is secured. The common kitchen is in the dorm building and is really just a 2 gas burners, a table, and an outdoor sink. One suicide shower that doesn't heat up very much. Very friendly dogs. Overall, this place is oriented towards people staying in their rooms. We ended up leaving after two nights to go to Sommerwind in Ibarra.

Report Check-In

Really great place to stay, one of our favourite places and well worth the trek up the hill! Great breakfast and beautiful place to hang out, there is also a kitchen to use if you would like. Just a warning to those with older cars- the drive up is cobbled and quite steep most of the way, we made it up with our 83 westy ok but just to note. Keep your speed up!

$8/person/night includes a great breakfast. Bathrooms clean with hot water. Small kitchen. Restaurant serves good food but a bit pricy. Lots of board games to play in the common area.

Very nice option in Otavalo in the way to the Mojanda lagoons, friendly staff and a really cozy place. We paid 6 USD p/p/n without breakfast. Great views.
