As described before. Althoug didn't stay more than one night because of the entrance fee, that we had to pay. 6 Dollars pP every day for a beach, that does fit surfers but not good for swimming. We felt ribbed off, especially since the locals pay just 500 Colones. Sorry for Marvin, he does a good job.

Report Check-In

Great camping and extremely friendly and nice owner. Very good value for money. The only problem is that it is definitely not quiet.

But this has nothing to do with the owner being great and deserving more foreign visitors...

Report Check-In

Stayed for two nights. Super close to the beach, covered spot to put our van with tent. Private sink, and clean showers \ toilets.

Whale watching tour booked from campsite was awesome, and half the price usually. Marvin was a super friendly host.

We stayed here for several days. Nice campground with more personal areas with a roof, water and electricity. The campground manager is a nice guy who keeps it nice and clean. Toilet areas are decent and for sure get cleaned daily. Campground is close to the beach, like a minute walk.

Honestly one of the best camp grounds in Costa Rica that we stayed at during rainy season. The fact alone that you can not only park your camper under a roof but that you have a huge dry space with electricity and water sink available was just awesome.

The owner was super friendly, gave us fruits from his trees. We saw macaws and iguanas frequenting the campground.

The dogs that live in the property were the absolute sweetest.

They were working on the bathrooms and showers while we visited, they definitely need an upgrade but it was ok.

Not sure how people managed to sneak into the national park / beach. It was all fenced and there is an entrance booth right down the street. It’s worth paying the 6$ though, very rough and beautiful beach for walking / running, swimming due to shallow water and strong currents probably not the best.

Awesome location if you want to be close to the beach access for the marina de ballena. The beach is lovely. The owner of the campground is awesome. The grounds are well kept and it's covered to shelter you from the rain! Each site is equipped with electricity, running water and a sink. Wifi throughout the grounds, reached fine to campground #16, Some have drying lines already hung. There are friendly dogs around the property and they are pet friendly. Wake to the sound of howler monkeys and scarlet macaws and go to sleep with the sound of the rain and lapping waves of the ocean. The atmosphere is so comfortable here that we ended up extending our two night stay to four nights. Some of the best sleep we've had on the road over the last 4 years. Even on the weekends the camp ground is quiet. Clean bathrooms, cold showers and the owner takes you around his property to show you the wild life that lives on-site! Wonderful place, highly recommended!

Nice place, charged us 5000 colones per person. Options for rooftop tents available. Close to the beach. Bathrooms are nice and clean. There is an Mexican restaurant 600 m away from the camping - not recommend when on a really low budget (prices are still OK) but the food and the drinks are amazing!!!

So good we stayed twice! We felt safe here and were pleased of the roof during the rainy nights. All plots feel quite private and have a sink and preperation area, ours also had a picnic bench.
You are given a set shower and toilet cubicle for your stay - there are big lizards watching down on you but we quite liked that. The beach entrance is right outside, a little far to food places but there is an amazing mexican about 10 mins up the road.
Bonus points for the two super friendly dogs :)

Still nice and quiet option to camp near the NP. Basic but clean toilets. Very friendly and kind oweners.

Nice Campground with kind of private showers and bathrooms. But you have to know that you have to pay for the beach (because it's national park) every day 6$/p. additional to the 5000 Colones for the Campground. The owner is a very nice guy who offers fruits from his place in the morning and has good informations nearly everything. Good WiFi and lots of birds, monkeys.
We stayed here the first time covered because our camper is over 3 meters and 24ft long.
Opposite is another Campground, a big shady field, for 3000 Colones pp and there's another one up the street with pool for 5000 Colones pp

nice camping near the park. Now the price is 9 dollars or 5000 colones per person.

Report Check-In

Very basic facilities and a bit rundown. Couldn’t connect to the internet but supposedly it’s working. Signs say camping does nót include entry to the national park but we walked to the park and there was nobody to check. (Low season)

Report Check-In

Very nice campsite. You save the entrance fee to the park if you stay here. A few steps from the beach. $4000 colones pet person. Very clean, dog friendly and if it rains the campsites are covered which is a plus. There’s a natural mystic floating trough the air 😛

very nice campsite next to the wonderful beach of Uvita for vr and tent about $ 10 a night

Based on previous reviews, we were surprised how nice this place is. Melvin is the owner and is super friendly. He keeps the place clean and well maintained. It's an open campground with various tall trees throughout. We felt very safe. He has 16 security cameras throughout the whole campground. Each camping space has a sink and lights which was so nice to have. Ours even had a table and tarp to cover our spot. Duringing season he has turtle nests! The camp is a 3 min walk to the beach. Some places to have to pay to get beach access, just walk along his property to get there. He has coconut trees and let us have a couple to make drinks out of. Costa Rica can be rough on the budget, but we felt this place was worth it!

Report Check-In

Friendly owner, cubicle shower, ram shackled site. Not beautiful and not wild. Playa Ballenas not the best either. An experience, but why would you when you have a possibility of a beautiful ocean view for free in safe and quiet Playa Ventanas just 10 mins south.

Report Check-In

As mentioned before. very open camp ground. Most camp sites are under cover, great for tent campers when raining. All sites have water and power outlet, table etc. Staff are super friendly and so are their dogs. A stone's throw from the beach. 4000 colones for a tent site. There are a couple of resturaunts and a bar near by.

We spent one night (9$pp) in this "gipsy" camp ground with intrusive dogs and sand flies and then moved 200 meters away for two other nights to El Tecal (5$pp). From hell to heaven!

Report Check-In

Great stay here. When you drive in you see plastic tarps but that just keeps the mid down. Beyond that there is so much space covered or uncovered. We scored a spot with sink, tiled counter and table. Everything was clean. And Chaman is so nice and friendly. Also surf out in front.

Report Check-In

Grim comes to mind. It has all the amenities but is like staying in a refugee camp, each area covered in plastic sheeting.

Report Check-In

Paid 8 US/person. Full electric and water, wifi next to main building. Clean toilets and showers (great pressure), very short walk to beach.

Report Check-In

We had friends visiting and this was a good spot for them to tent next to our van. Covered area, electricity, sink & table - at each camping space! The owner was exceptionally nice and took us in the morning, for $2 a piece, on one of the best waterfall tours I've ever had. The beach is also beautiful and there's a secret entrance at the back of the property so you don't have to pay the park entrance fee! The owner will point it out, saved us $6/person/day!

Report Check-In

Great big place. Lots of amenities. Pizza down the street at Last Ballena Roja. Delicious.
