Description

Hacienda in the hill on the west side of Cajamarca city center. We were allowed to camp in the parking lot of the Hacienda and we had dinner in the restaurant. Toilet open all night and there was cold showers that we did not try. WIFI included. Road up is narrow and a big rig might have a problem.

Latest Check-Ins

They wanted 25S per person and night, so we would have paid 50S. The whole place was very dusty, the toilets and the showers dirty. Its quite far from the center.
We then searched a hostel at the main place and got a matrimonial room with bath for the same price.

It was raining hard and dark, but we found it. Once you get on the right Road go up. Last part short dirt road still. Very cold showers.

We paid 36 soles total to camp and used the bathroom in the dorm room as they are doing construction on the main bathroom. Good wifi and quiet at night. The gentleman working here tried to charge us 55 soles at checkout (tried to charge us for the room and camping) but we objected and he agreed to 35. Lack of change resulted in 36. This place was easier to find as the road is paved and open now.

Report Check-In

The road up to the hacienda was closed for construction when we tried to go here. They told me it had been closed for about a week. The hotel was not accessible by vehicle. Not sure how long it will take before they finish. It looks like they were going to pave the road. We did not stay here.

They wanted s40 for one person. I talked them down to s30 per night. They had a quincenera Saturday night and loud music till 6:45am. I'm sure it's a rare occurrence. 10min walk down to plaza de armas, but no one wanted to taxi me back up to the lodge. Hot showers.

We camped for two nights with When Sparks Fly. We suggest heading up Avenida Revolution because construction had changed the streets. Sign for Hacienda is painted on side of building at the turn off for Avenida Revolution and Loreto. Last of road is rough dirt but they are working on replacing it. When you see the long rock wall, bear right to Hacienda. Parking is quiet and flat inside the gate. Entry gate is 11.25 feet. Allowed us to wash clothes and use the line. Inquire about hot water before showering.

Nice place. Decent bathrooms with HOT showers! Let us set up our tent in their banquet room due to rain. Great WIFI. Price: 30 soles per night for 2. Note this place is difficult to find! Follow calle revolucion to the top then continue back on dirt track.

Holy $@ is this place hard to find! Tons of closed roads and roads under construction and arriving after sunset didn't help. Suggest you just ask a pedicab to show you the way when you get lost. Good views from the hacienda. 30S per night for two. Bathrooms were not very nice and very cold showers.

The lodge is under new ownership and is in the process of renovation so the bathrooms were a bit run down/some weren't working (for females, there are better toilets by the shower area, we did not try the showers so can't speak to that), and other amenities weren't available (like the restaurant). In time, this place should be really nice. The main road up was under construction and thus closed but is expected be be completed within a month and should then be paved. The alternate road was extremely hard to find and a very rough dirt road. The wifi seemed better than other wifi we've come across in Peru. We paid 30 soles per night and it was fairly peaceful and quiet (some dogs barking in the distance at times). Walkable down to the plaza de arms/centro, 3 soles for a mototaxi up (if they'll take you, many won't since it is fairly high/steep to get up, a regular taxi may but is likely more expensive).
