French Guiana
People at info center confirmed: camping at the beach is forbidden ... but ... if you take care of your trash, use the public toilets and in turtle season keep lights and sounds to the minimum overnight parking is OK.
Picnic area with tables and constant breeze, so almost no mosquitoes.
To see turtles continue on the road 1.5km extra, you can stay overnight there too but here is quieter.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We stepped out of the vehicle to see about parking here and were immediately swarmed. Relentless mosquitoes! Just up to road at the sand spot, with the turn around area.... no mosquitoes. Guess where we camped?
Report Check-InMillions mosquitoes but the place is good to spend at night. It was a quiet night. You can see IBIS birds.
Report Check-InWe just camped in the abandoned "Auberge" with our tent. Nobody here. Great shelter from the rain. Just two minutes with the motobike to the beach, to watch the turtles.
