Latest Check-Ins

Wanted to give an update, as there was no current check-ins for this spot and add a few pictures. The price for dry camping is still $10. The electric space is $30. Every campsite has table, grill and garbage. The pond has a wide trail around it. Even with the pond right there, the bugs were very minimal (a few flies, but no mosquitoes). The locals come and do walks around the pond, so hear them come and go. An occasional train and cars passing by on the main road, but wasn’t too much. Quite happy with our two night stay and would definitely use this camp ground again.

Report Check-In

This is our second visit in a year. It is still as described, a nice quiet spot. It appears to be open despite Covid

Report Check-In

Currently closed due to Covid. I would check with the local police dept before driving all the way here.

Great free spot in Kearny. Campground is as everyone has described. A lot of locals drive to the lake day and night so it’s not completely quiet. The road noise can certainly be heard but it’s not too disturbing. Very friendly locals will come and have a chat. Lovely vistas of surrounding mountains. Nice walk around the lake. Clear night skies for wonderful stars. There is still one spigot of potable water available at this time of year. The locals said there are no fish in the lake so don’t bother fishing.

Report Check-In

As described, lovely in December nighttime temps 40-50’s, daytime 60’-70s, perfect! Loop around the pond is nice for a stroll with the dog. Lots of local people cruise around, that took away from the quiet. T-mobile LTE 4 to 0 bars, not kidding.

Report Check-In

Cute little place. Pulled in after dark. Basic bathrooms, fresh water tap. fire rings, trash can and picnic table at each site. Walking path around the lake gets used by the Kearny people, who are friendly. A couple other campers. Beautiful view by day, stars at night. Watch your pets if they're small, coyotes heard at night.

Nice Campground, free in low season. Quiet. Fire pits. Water. Flush Toilets. Walking around the Lake. Dump Station at No. 2.

Report Check-In

A very quiet, small campground. Flush toilets are spotlessly clean. Each site has a bbq, bin, bench seats and table and a fire pit. There is a small man made lake for fishing if you have a permit. All this and it's free!
