Latest Check-Ins

Came in April and would not recommend it. Perhaps it's nicer during the wet season. There was no water at all and the last 4km of road in was atrocious. Large rocks, narrow path with bamboos protruding left right and top. We got a whipping (our vehicle is 2.1m high,2.1m wide). Best to have 4wd and small rig. No one was there so we were not charged. Rubbish everywhere.

26Nov2019: indeed a very nice place, there was still enough water flowing for us to bath and take a strong shower under the waterfall.
The 4km track from the turn-off from road 4508 was ok, but it is extremely narrow for big rigs with lots and lots of bamboo growing on both sides, of which we had to cut many. So if you are scared of getting scratches, heavy scratches, don’t even think of driving here.
The guard was first asking 100’000 … lowered it to 80’000 … but as we insisted on an official ticket, he first pretended not to have any but then produced a numbered paper slip with 30.000 and Phou Khao Khouay NPA printed on it, the rest in Lao (… later we found out it was a ticket for a guided tour through the jungle …) … so we paid 60’000 for 2p

Loved it! Gorgeous place and you’ll probably have it to yourself. Lots of biting bugs so use repellent, it’s the jungle after all. Slightly tricky track to get in, would need decent ground clearance. We were here right at the end of wet season though so roads aren’t in the best condition anywhere.

Report Check-In

We camped here, paying 10000 each to enter the park and 40000 each to camp. Lovely place to have a wash in the river. Lots of bugs!!!

Report Check-In
